Unikrn, the Seattle-based gaming and eSports company, is again introducing new innovations within the eSports scene.

This time it’s a new global platform, Unikrn Arena Global, a virtual arena where users can earn Unikoins by participating in various activities and then use them to increase their odds of winning amazing prizes.

Additionally, the company also announced its first companion app, Unikrn Vault, which will be available shortly after launch for Android and iOS.

The recent development of the company attracted the attention of Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary’s Sound Ventures, which previously invested in tech industry-changing startups such as Airbnb, FourSquare, Skype, SoundCloud, Square, Zenefits, Uber and are now joining Unikrn’s recent Series A investment round that was announced on June 30, 2015.

“Bringing Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary on was a big deal for me. They are well known for picking winning consumer technology companies and are incredibly connected. We’re looking forward to working with their team to help make Unikrn Arena a big success,” said Rahul Sood, CEO of Unikrn.

Unikrn Arena Global plus Unikoins equals easy access to eSports betting

By introducing the Unikrn Arena Global along with the Unikoin, users from all over the world will be able to bet on eSports.

As the company’s website states, “The Unikoin is a virtual currency that allows you to bet on eSports, for free, from anywhere in the world.”

Just shortly after the launch of Unikoins, the company saw a massive growth in betting volume after one week. On the platform, users are given the opportunity to participate in daily “quests” that provide the chance to earn Unikoins that can be used to win prizes from companies such as Alienware, Caseking, Funko, Gunnar, HP, HyperX, and Logitech.

Types of quests include “Betting Quests,” which reward users for placing bets on Unikrn; “Social Quests,” which reward users for engaging with their friends and/or social networks; and “Trivia Questions,” where users can answer questions about the games being played on Unikrn.

Prizes are given away through an interactive raffle system, and users will be able enter their Unikoins into the daily, weekly, and monthly draws.

In addition, the soon-to-be-released Unikrn Vault App will support the development by allowing users to earn additional Unikoins through trivia and creating their own questions. More engagement will mean more Unikoins earned and finally greater chances to win awesome prizes in the Unikrn Marketplace.

Getting involved in the UK eSports market

Another recent development of the company was the launch of the Arena eSports wagering platform in the UK.

With the help of the operator’s Luxbet platform, users can bet on games from various events using bet types already known by traditional sports betting markets. It is also the first time that odds are offered on overall tournament winners.

Speaking to the topic, Rahul Sood said, “The UK is one of the most sophisticated sports betting markets in the world and there has been tremendous demand for safe wagering on eSports from consumers in that part of the world.”

According to Unikrn, the UK market attracted the company not only because gambling is permitted, but also because of the country’s world’s fifth-largest video game market, generating £3.2 billion in 2013 with an audience of more than 33.5 million people.
