In most cases, esports betting revolves around the classic betting options: single and multi bets on an outcome of a match. Even though this type of betting already serves as additional excitement when watching your favorite team play, team Unikrn has now included exotic bets in their product offering.
With these type of bets, which can be strategic and just plain fun, not only the outcome of the match becomes important, but also the aspect of how the match unfolds.
Betting on who can complete a specific objective first
The term “objective” mainly describes actions that the team takes during the game. These can include drawing first blood, being the first to slay the dragon and/or the baron, or being the first to take down a tower.
With a “first blood” bet, the goal is to predict the team that will defeat the first champion. It has only two outcomes, Team A or Team B.
Predicting the team that will first slay the dragon and/or baron, depending on how far long the match been going on, is another exotic bet and also has only two outcomes, Team A or Team B.
Similar to the above two options, predicting the team that will first take down a tower is also a two-outcomes-only bet and the goal is to pick the team who will first take down any of the opponent’s towers.
Splitting the match
Additionally, participants can now also split a specific match (with games like best out of three or best out of five), and bet on who will win the first map and who will win the second map, unlike being only able to bet on one team for the entire match.
“Over 2.5+ – Total Maps over/under” is a bet based on whether there will be 2 or 3 maps played in a match to determine the winning team.
Handicap +1.5 / -1.5
“Handicap” is a virtual advantage that is given to the weaker team in a match to even out the playing field. The team that is considered the weaker team is given a “Handicap +1.5” map advantage over the opposing team that is considered the stronger team.
