Valorant Episode 3 Act 3 Agent Delayed

Published: Oct 29, 2021

Riot Games are close to releasing the long-awaited Episode 3 Act III, and in the past, each new Act usually came with a brand new agent. This time, the new agent will be slightly delayed. The Valorant team has decided to hold off from releasing the agent for another two weeks in order to fine-tune the agent and add the final finishing touches.

The good news is that they’ll be releasing more information about the agent in question later today, on October 29th. Whether we’ll be getting a new teaser video or a full trailer is still unknown, but what we do know is that it’s definitely going to be a Sentinel agent, so that’s already something we can work with.

The Agent Launches in 3.10

So we now know that we’re getting a new agent, and we’ve also learned that it will be released with patch 3.10. So that’s two things to get excited about.

Although the agent won’t release immediately with Act III, there’s already a lot of leaks and teasers from Riot, all of which point towards this actually being Deadeye. It seems that the detectives from the community had cracked the code a while ago, but now it is all but confirmed by Riot.

They’ll be releasing more information later today, on October 29th, so keep an eye on Riot Games social media.

Valorant’s character producer, John Goscicki, said the following:

“Some good news! We’re still excited to show you what the next Agent is all about. Stay tuned to our social channels tomorrow—October 29, 8AM PT—for a look at the upcoming Sentinel.”

When discussing the reasons for the delay, John Goscicki also added:

“As development progressed on the new Agent, it was clear to us that they were not at the quality bar you’ve come to expect from us. It’s why we’ve opted to hold the Agent for an additional two weeks, while we work on polishing up those final aspects. Sometimes the last 10% of work really brings together the previous 90% of work.”

In today’s day and age where games are being pushed in an unfinished state all for the sake of quick profit, it’s quite refreshing to see a company focus on quality first. If it means that the agent will launch in a better state, then it’s well worth the wait.

Deadeye Leaks Confirmed?

About a month ago, Riot Games posted an update hinting at the new agent. Even back then, the community had a pretty good idea as to who it might be.

The codename “Deadeye” was leaked a few months prior to Riot announcing the agent, so everyone immediately connected the dots. Now, Riot has pretty much confirmed the rumors by posting a series of images of Deadeye on their Twitter, and we’re expecting more to drop later today.

The new Sentinel agent will finally join Valorant and we can’t wait to see how it will impact the meta, and more importantly, the final Valorant Champions Tour stage – Valorant Champions. Will Riot allow the teams to pick Deadeye, or will they lock the agent in order to preserve balance? Hopefully all of this, and more, will be addressed in today’s Valorant news.
