VCT Masters Tokyo Playoffs 2023 Format and Schedule

Following the opening Group Stage, the Playoffs feature only the top 8 teams in the world. This includes the four teams from the Group Stage, and the four High Seeded teams.

Taking place between 16th and 25th June, a double elimination bracket has the remaining teams seeded into the opening Upper Bracket matches – ripe for VALORANT betting.

Moreover, all matches are BO3 except for the Lower Final and Grand Final being BO5. For those unaware, teams in the double elimination bracket have two lifelines – two losses means elimination.

At the end of the day, apart from the $1,000,000 prize pool, the seeds for grabs are for VALORANT Champions and the Last Chance Qualifier.

Here’s the schedule for the final matches:

Lower Bracket Final – June 24th

Grand Final – June 25th

Helping us preview each of the final Playoffs matches are betting odds as provided by GG.Bet at the time of writing. Feel free to learn more about this particular esports betting site in our GG.Bet review!

VCT Masters Tokyo Playoffs Predictions

Evil Geniuses vs Paper Rex

VCT Masters Tokyo Playoffs - Evil Geniuses

Hoping to stay alive in the tournament and earn a spot in the Grand Final, Evil Geniuses and Paper Rex have eachother to go through in the Lower Bracket Final.

In an exciting BO5 format, these two teams both have interesting stories this late into the event, contributing to the VALORANT odds..

Firstly, there’s Evil Geniuses – the surprise from VCT Americas has maintained an incredible run so far. Moreover, the only maps they’ve ever lost were against Fnatic.

Meanwhile, Paper Rex, forced to play with a substitute player, have somehow stayed alive in the competition, after losing to Fnatic.

Sure, Paper Rex have quite a bit of international experience, and have surprised so far – many question whether this roster with one week of practice has the preparation to last in a BO5 match.

Bearing this in mind, and Evil Geniuses’ impressive run, Evil Geniuses are the  esports betting favourite here.

Grand Final – Can Fnatic Be Stopped?

Whichever team makes it to the Grand Final, will have to face the favourites, the reigning champions – Fnatic.

For those unaware, Fnatic walked away as victors from the opening event, VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo. Then, after remaining flawless for the entire VCT EMEA League Regular Season, they lost the VCT EMEA Playoffs title to Team Liquid.

So far at VCT Masters Tokyo Playoffs, Fnatic has stayed flawless – only losing to Evil Geniuses.

Regardless of which team makes it to the Grand Final, Fnatic will be favoured due to their history of achievements – Evil Geniuses with a greater chance of making things interesting and shake up the esports odds.
