VIE.gg CS:GO Legends Series Tournament Competitors Announced

In a joint press release from both Esports Entertainment Group, Inc and Allied Esports, the final details for the forthcoming VIE.gg Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Legend Series Tournament have been announced just ahead of its official start date on Monday, August 31.

Initial details of the tournament had been announced previously, with the two partners sharing details of a licensing and sponsorship agreement for the new tournament, which will see Legend Series betting on the VIE.gg platform for the very first time.

A total of 16 teams from multiple European countries, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region and South America will be competing online for total prize money of €50,000.

The 14 teams confirmed as participating include five of the top-ranked teams from Belarus, Norway, Ukraine, Romania, and Bulgaria, as well as seven of the top 50 ranked CS:GO teams globally. A further two teams in addition to the 14 announced below, will be confirmed sometime this week.

Tournament Format

The Allied Esports’ VIE.gg CS:GO Legends Series will be organised into two main stages. The first will see the 16 competing teams drawn into a group stage with four teams in each of the four groups. The top two teams qualify from each group for the playoffs.

The four first-round playoff games will be played over a best-of-three format, while the semifinals and final will be contested over best-of-five. Teams have the ability to earn prize pool money throughout the tournament including €500 if they win a match and €1,500 if they manage to finish top of their group in the opening phase.

The winner of the tournament pockets €15,000, with €7,000 for the runner up and €3,000 to the two teams that finish third/fourth.

The action will be streamed live from the HyperX Esports Studio in Hamburg in Germany on Twitch on Allied Esports dedicated channel.

Dynamic Live Odds

As part of the deal with the two companies, each match in the tournament will feature wagering aspects shown on screen, including the display of dynamic live CSGO odds taken from the VIE.gg site. Players will then be able to bet in-play on the action as it unfolds like on screen.

In addition, other types of bets available on the game will be discussed by the telecasters during each of the shows.

“We’re thrilled to sponsor the inaugural VIE.gg CS:GO Legend Series which features an incredible roster of teams and has the potential to reach more than four million combined followers globally.” Stated VP of Marketing and Head of Esports at the Esports Entertainment Group.

The first games in the group stages are set to begin on Monday August 31.
