Aimed to kick off in 2025, the Esports Asian Champions League is scheduled to span six months and feature up to 10 esports games.

Hosted by VSPO, the biggest esports operator in all of Asia, this event will help push esports in Asia.

Partnering with game developers such as Tencent and NetEase, titles such as Honor of Kings are very likely to be featured in the tournament.

Speaking of the Esports World Cup, this tournament also features a Saudi influence. With sizable investments from Saudi Arabia’s Savvy Games Group, China and Saudi Arabia are working together to make for the best festival possible.

More excitingly, the press release outlined an interest in creating a brand new viewership experience which is making esports news.

Creating mixed reality arenas, the Esports Asian Champions League could be game-changing for esports.

Here’s what Al Saud, chairman of Savvy Games, had to say:

To be able to do something to bring and unite all these players together, we want to do it in a way where they don’t have to jump on a plane and travel … but to give them a chance to do this in an easier way that can really take a step forward as a regional competition

A Six Month Season?

While we’re thrilled to hear about new esports tournaments, the structure is somewhat concerning.

At six months of competition, we’re not sure how the Esports Asian Champions League will be able to fit multiple esports calendars into its structure – something which the Esports World Cup struggled with.
