Wang ‘Ame’ Chunyu is the current carry player for LGD Gaming.

Early Career

‘Ame’s career began in late 2015 when joined CDEC Youth. This organization was formerly sponsored by LGD Gaming, but the team left their sponsorship in 2014. CDEC Youth had limited success, as they failed to qualify for most events during the time ‘Ame’ played with them. Despite this, they managed to take home some significant amounts of money from prize winnings after placing highly at a few events. After qualifying for Dota 2 Radiant & Dire Cup 2015, the team went on to place 2nd at the main event. In 2016, the team placed 4th at the Nanyang Dota 2 Championships Season 2 and 10th at Dota2 Professional League Season 1. After a poor performance at StarLadder i-League StarSeries, ‘Ame’ and his teammate ‘Shiki’ were dropped from the team. A month later, ‘Ame’ was invited to play for LGD Gaming.

LGD Gaming

‘Ame’ joined LGD in time for The Boston Major Qualifiers towards the end of 2016. The team managed to make it to the main event, but unfortunately placed joint last. That same month they also placed 3rd at Dota2 Professional League Season 2 – Top, losing to iG Vitaly. For the first few months of 2017, the team failed to qualify for most events. They came 2nd at the next season of Dota2 Professional League – Top, but didn’t achieve any other notable results until June. Right before The International 2017, the team placed 3rd at DOTA Summit 7 and won the Mars Dota 2 League. After making it through the Chinese Qualifiers for The International, LGD managed to achieve an incredible 4th place finish. They were seen by many as the underdogs of the event, as their track record throughout the year was very poor.

Since then, the team has achieved a few notable results including 2nd at PGL Open Bucharest and 2nd at StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 4. They participated at ESL One Katowice 2018 but disappointingly placed 9th/12th.

International tournaments

‘Ame’s greatest achievement in terms of prize money was his 4th place finish at The International 2017 with LGD Gaming. Leading up to this event he also won the Mars Dota 2 League 2017. Since The International 2017, ‘Ame’ has had little success on the international scene.
