Exileh Domestic Career

Fabian “Exileh” Schubert began his LoL career on teams like ESC Gaming, EYES ON U, and Team Kappa Prime. Still, he only attended smaller tournaments until he joined SK Gaming Prime.

On Prime, he went to the 2015 EU CS Spring #1, but a quick 1-2 loss to Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP) put an end to his run. In the off-season, Exileh joined the same team that defeated him, NiP. Together with his new teammates, he took part in the 2014 EU CS Summer #1. NiP had a solid start to their tournament with back-to-back victories against Unicorns of Love (UOL) and Gamers2, but a 0-2 loss to H2K in the finals eliminated them from the competition.

After such a disappointing showing, Exileh took a break from competitive League of Legends. He briefly played for Mysterious Monkeys, but he really made his comeback on Unicorns of Love.

UOL struggled in the 2016 Summer Split. With a 6-5-7 record (wins-losses-ties), they barely qualified for the playoffs. Their 3-1 victory over Giants Gaming showed a glimmer of hope, but Unicorns couldn’t keep the momentum going. After losing to G2 and H2K, they finished the 2016 Summer Split in fourth place.

Of course, they could still make it to Worlds by going through the Gauntlet. There, Unicorns bested Giants Gaming and Fnatic to qualify for the finals. But this was the end of the line for them, and UOL missed out on their Worlds trip after losing a close series to Splyce.

Unicorns of Love finally made their presence known in the 2017 Spring Split. With a massive 11-2 record, they topped their group and readied themselves for the playoffs. In the Semifinals, they dismantled Misfits 3-1, but their finals series ended with a crushing defeat against G2 Esports. Still, this was a great showing for Exileh, and he made a name for himself as one of the best mid laners in Europe.

But inexplicably, his play took a nosedive in summer. This dip in performance reflected poorly on UOL’s showings, and while they managed to finish their group in second place, the 0-3 Quarterfinals loss to Misfits knocked them out of the playoffs. In the Regional Finals, they lost a close 5-game series against H2K and failed to advance to the 2017 World Championship.

Exileh International Tournaments

On Unicorns of Love, Exileh went to his first international tournament, IEM Season 11 Oakland. With back-to-back victories against INTZ e-Sports and TSM, UOL made it all the way to the finals where they clashed with Flash Wolves. The series came down to the wire, but in the end, Unicorns came out on top and took their first international trophy.

After such a strong showing, Unicorns were invited to the IEM Season 11 World Championship. Their victory over Kongdoo Monster showed a lot of promise, but the following group stage losses to Flash Wolves and G2 Esports eliminated them from the event.

UOL also went to the Rift Rivals (NA vs EU) event. Even though they were considered the weakest European team at the tournament, Unicorns managed to secure a 50% groups win rate to qualify for the finals. There, they fell 0-3 to TSM.
