Carlo ‘Kuku’ Palad is the current captain and support player for TNC Pro Team.
‘Kuku’ joined Mineski in 2015. This was his first steps into the professional scene, although the team mostly participated in small events and qualifiers for top tier events. They occasionally came close to qualifying for some of these and towards the end of the year they successfully qualified for the Nanyang Dota 2 Championships and The Frankfurt Major and Summit 4. However, their results at these events were lackluster, as they only placed 9th/10th, 9th/12th and 7th/8th respectively. In 2016, Mineski failed to qualify for The Shanghai Major. ‘Kuku’ left the team to join TNC Pro Team in time for the next Valve Major.
TNC Pro Team
‘Kuku’ participated in The Manila Major 2016 Qualifiers but unfortunately failed to secure an invite to the main event. By the time The International 2016 Qualifiers had come around, the team had achieved very little other than earning an invite to World Cyber Arena. However, the team managed to put on a very strong performance at the qualifiers and earned their invite to the main event of The International. TNC Pro Team were the underdogs of the tournament as they had not performed very well leading up to the event. However, they still managed to place in the top half of all teams and finished in 7th/8th place. Following The International, they participated in very few tournaments.
The team welcomed 2017 with a victory at World Electronic Sports Games and later qualified for The Kiev Major. Unfortunately, they fell short at the main event and placed joint last. They later participated in some top tier events and put on surprisingly strong performances which landed them in the top 3 every time. They qualified for The International 2017 through the Southeast Asian Qualifiers but unfortunately they placed 9th/12th, a drop from the year before. For the remainder of 2017, the team participated in qualifiers for every top tier event and consistently performed well. Although they did not qualify to every major event, they did earn invites to some. They also won China Top 2017 and came 2nd at MDL Macau.
In 2018, the team had earned invites to a number of prestigious events. They also put on strong performances at these events, and convincingly demonstrated their potential. At The Bucharest Major and Dota 2 Asia Championships, the team placed 5th/8th and 4th respectively. These results are highly impressive considering their growth over the past two years.
‘Kuku’ has achieved a number of great results at international events. Not least, he has helped his team win World Electronic Sports Games 2016 and China Top 2017. He attended The International 2016 and 2017, where he placed 7th/8th and 9th/12th respectively. More recently, he has placed 5th/8th at The Bucharest Major and 4th at Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018.
