Jianwei ‘xNova’ Yap is a support player for LGD Gaming.

Early Career

‘xNova’s career began in 2015 when he joined and captained the team Who2Bet. This team placed 2nd at South East Asia Dota 2 Championship. Following this, he briefly played with Mineski.X but failed to achieve any success with this team as they failed to qualify for any significant event.

WarriorsGaming.Unity participated in The Boston Major qualifiers after winning the ProDotA Cup Southeast Asia #2. The team made it through the qualifiers and received an invite to the main event. Unfortunately, they placed 5th/8th and got knocked out by OG. After failing to qualify for Dota 2 Asia Championships and StarLadder i-league StarSeries, the squad was briefly picked up by Team Bazaar to participate in The Kiev Major qualifiers. However, the team failed to qualify and the squad returned to playing under their previous name of WarriorsGaming.Unity. The team participated in a number of smaller events leading up to The International 2017 Qualifiers and was somewhat successful. Most notably they won Infinite Sky League and SEA Kappa Invitational Season 4. However, the team disappointingly failed to qualify for The International and following this the team reformed.

‘xNova’ was kept on for the next iteration of the WarriorsGaming.Unity roster. Unfortunately, this lineup was even more unsuccessful than the previous. They failed to qualify for every event other than ROG MASTERS and although they placed 3rd/4th at this event, ‘xNova’ left the team immediately afterwards.

LGD Gaming

‘xNova’ stood in for Clutch Gamers before joining LGD Gaming in the beginning of 2018. The team attended several qualifiers and won almost all of them. They came 2nd at StarLadder i-League Invitational against Team Liquid and placed 9th/12th at ESL One Katowice.

International tournaments

‘xNova’ hasn’t achieved many great results at international events. However, he helped WarriorsGaming.Unity place 5th/8th at The Boston Major and LGD Gaming achieve 2nd at StarLadder i-league Invitational Season 4.
