Riot Games announces sanctions for Forsaken and Bushido Wildcats at EMEA Masters

Riot Games has issued sanctions against Forsaken and Bushido Wildcats at League of Legends event EMEA Masters Summer 2025.

An investigation was launched following a video on social media where members of Forsaken streamed an inappropriate celebration.

This was followed by an online feud between teams, players and communities of Forsaken and Bushido Wildcats, where inappropriate language was used.

The investigation has found that both teams have breached the Esports Global Code of Conduct.

In a statement, Riot Games shared: “After reviewing reports regarding social media activity involving several team members yesterday, Riot Games has completed its investigation and confirmed breaches of the Riot Games Esports Global Code of Conduct.”

What sanctions have been issued at the EMEA Masters?

Forsaken toplaner Dawid ‘Melonik’ Sleczka has been given a warning and an immediate two-game suspension.

This means Melonik will miss most of Forsaken’s crucial upcoming EMEA Masters best-of-five versus MISA.

A statement from Riot Games said he breached a code for ‘vulgar or provocative’ behaviour.

Warnings have also been dished out to the Forsaken and Bushido Wildcat teams, as well as the CEO of Turkish organisation MISA Esports, Ziyad Apaydın.

All parties were found to have broken at least two of Riot Games’ Esports Global Code of Conduct.

They all broke 4.1 (General Obligations), which insists competitors must ‘observe the highest standards of personal integrity and sporting conduct’.

They also breached 4.9 (Vulgar or Provocative), which states: “Esports Professionals may not use words, gestures, digital or physical objects, or any other means to transmit, allow or facilitate messages or actions that are obscene, vulgar, provocative, hateful, racist, insulting, threatening, abusive, libellous, slanderous, defamatory, or otherwise offensive or objectionable.”

What happened between Forsaken and Bushido Wildcats?

The spat involving the two esports organisations started when Bushido Wildcats called out the behaviour of Team Forsaken.

Wildcats posted a video from Forsaken’s stream, which showed the players performing an inappropriate celebration after defeating Rich Gang in the EMEA Masters Last Chance Qualifier.

Since the video surfaced, various public arguments have been held online involving both organisations and the teams’ players.

Wildcats claimed they wanted Forsaken to be suspended from competing at the tournament. They also claimed Forsaken had ‘verbally attacked Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of Turkiye.

MISA Esports’ CEO Ziyad Apaydın also got into trouble after tweeting: “Today, we stand with Bushido against the Poles. Let’s not lose to these disgusting, low-class scumbags.”

Team Forsaken would ultimately eliminate Bushido Wildcats from EMEA Masters Summer 2025 and will face MISA Esports next.
