BLAST Rivals team list announced

BLAST have announced its invite list for BLAST Rivals Hong Kong.

The eight-team event will take place in the AsiaWorld-Expo Arena in Hong Kong, with a prize pool of $350,000 on offer.

The eight-team event features four teams invited based on VRS ranking from the latest October 6th snapshot.

These teams are:

The MongolZ – VRS #1
Furia – VRS #2
Vitality – VRS #3
Spirit – VRS #4

The other four teams are Wildcard invites, with one invite from each region of EU, Asia, North America, and South America. Technically, NA and SA are subregions of the Americas in VRS.

These teams are:

Falcons – EU Wildcard/VRS #5
TYLOO – Asia Wildcard/VRS #14
paiN – SA Wildcard/VRS #16
Passion UA – NA Wildcard/VRS #22

As is evident by the VRS rankings, the Wildcard invites mean a significant discrepancy between the top teams and the other attending rosters at the event.

While the VRS invites, and Falcons’ attendance mean the five top teams are present, other top teams, such as MOUZ, G2, and Aurora, miss out due to BLAST’s decision to make it a Wildcard event.

The event represents a key opportunity to capture a trophy and boost confidence before Counter-Strike 2’s second major of the year in Budapest.

The StarLadder Budapest 2025 Major will run from November 24-December 14, with 32 teams competing to see who can capture Counter-Strike’s most significant trophy.

For Vitality, they will be hoping to reassert themselves as the unopposed dominant force after their recent ESL Pro League Season 22 victory broke their second-season trophy drought.

For Furia, The MongolZ, and Spirit, the test will be to capture another trophy and to put their names amongst the favourites for the Hungarian Major.

For Falcons, the goal will be to capture a true elite trophy after their PGL Bucharest victory earlier in the year.

While the event was certainly a Tier 1 event, the top 3 teams at the time, Vitality, Spirit and Mouz did not attend the event.

Now with Vitality present, the roster can focus their minds on getting a significant scalp and take a step forward in terms of confidence and team cohesion coming up to the major.

TYLOO, paiN, and Passion UA’s chances may be lower, but they can take heart from TYLOO’s impressive Fissure Playground 1 victory, where the Chinese roster defeated Astralis to claim the trophy.

BLAST Rivals Hong Kong will take place November 14-16.
