Right from the group stage, Tundra and Falcons were on another level, both finishing 9-2 and skipping straight to the semis like bosses. Falcons, fresh off their TI14 glory and that FISSURE Playground 2 win, looked unstoppable. Tundra? They were out to prove why they’re the Slam kings, having crushed it in BLAST Slam II and III.
The playoffs didn’t disappoint. Tundra got a wake up call in their semi against MOUZ dropped the opener but flipped the script with a gritty 2-1 reverse sweep to punch their final ticket. Falcons, meanwhile, steamrolled HEROIC 2-0, no sweat.
Heading into the big dance, it felt like Falcons were primed for a four peat. But oh man, the grand final? Pure chaos. Falcons struck first in Game 1, then Tundra fired back to tie it 1-1. Falcons roared ahead with a blistering 26-minute stomp in Game 3, leading 2-1 and smelling victory. That’s when Tundra flipped the switch, rattling off two straight wins to seal a 3-2 thriller.
Games 4 and 5 had identical drafts. Same heroes, same picks, first time that’s ever happened back to back in a top tier Dota 2 grand final. Tundra’s adaptation game was chef’s kiss, straight up ruining Falcons’ parade.
