FaZe Esports Unaffected by Creator Exodus Chaos, Key Executive Vows

FaZe Clan’s competitive esports divisions will face zero fallout from the content creator departures that stunned fans over Christmas, promised outgoing executive Kaysan Ghasseminejad.

Six top streamers, Adapt, Lacy, StableRonaldo, QTCinderella, and others announced their exits on December 25, igniting fears for the organization’s future, including its thriving Counter-Strike 2 and Call of Duty rosters.

Kaysan, departing FaZe’s content arm on December 27, emphasized during a Twitch stream that esports operates independently under GameSquare ownership, separate from Matt Kalish’s FaZe Media.

Competitive Teams Ringfenced from Turmoil

“No impact whatsoever at FaZe Esports. The CS team is fine. Our Call of Duty team has an incredible owner… FaZe CS fans, you have nothing to worry about,” Kaysan stated.

Reassurance arrives at a prime moment: FaZe’s CS2 squad just stormed to the Budapest Major grand finals after a rocky start, proving their mettle.

The org boasts an all female Valorant team and championship pedigree in PUBG, Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite, and Apex Legends achievements often overshadowed by creator hype.

Strategic Pivot to Esports

FaZe’s official statement echoed the divide: “FaZe eSports has always operated as a separate entity, nothing on that side will change. Rather it will become our main focus moving forward.” Kaysan pledged to “continue to run and grow FaZe Esports” while rooting for his ex-content colleagues.

Tensions trace to GameSquare’s 2024 buyout and the HardScope creator platform launch, stalling contracts but player deals stay secure. GameSquare (GSQ Holdings) retains full esports control, with Kaysan and the core team at the helm ensuring FaZe’s competitive legacy endures unscathed.
