ESL Pro Tour 2028 Counter-Strike 2 esports calendar revealed
ESL FACEIT Group have unveiled the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports calendar for the ESL Pro Tour in 2028.
The esports tournament organisers are well-prepared with six Tier 1 events scheduled in three years’ time.
These six events, taking place between January and November 2028, will form part of CS2’s ESL Pro Tour circuit.
Though ESL has also confirmed that they may run additional events during the year.
Some fans expect another major will be announced, as the usual slot between May and June, where an IEM Dallas or another USA event would usually be, is still empty.
ESL Pro Tour 2025 CS2 Events
More details for each individual event still need to be confirmed, including the locations of where these tournaments will be played.
However, ESL has confirmed the timeframe for all six events. Here are the dates for the CS2 ESL Pro Tour 2028:
- Event 1 – January 26th to February 8th
- Event 2 – March 3rd to 19th
- Event 3 – April 10th to 16th
- Event 4 – August 2nd to 13th
- Event 5 – September 16th to October 1st
- Event 6 – October 23rd to 29th
This early announcement is so that ESL can adhere to Valve’s Tournament Operation Requirements.
The CS2 publishers rule that tournaments taking place after December 31st, 2026 must be announced at least 22 months before the tournament’s main event starts.
ESL’s Future Plans
Throughout 2025, ESL has continued to unveil its plans for various CS2 events taking place over the next few years.
In August, it was revealed that IEM Cologne 2026 will host the first Major of the 2026 season.
This will be ten years since a Counter-Strike Major took place at the Lanxess Arena in Germany.
ESL has also confirmed that Katowice, Poland, will host the ESL Pro League Season 24 Finals in 2026.
The event is the first time the Pro League has taken place in a large-scale venue since ESL Pro League Season 10.
Back in 2019, the ESL Pro League Season 10 finals took place at the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense, Denmark, which has a maximum capacity of 15,000.
