Korean League Sees Over 30% Domestic Boost Amid Global Boom
The League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) has unveiled impressive viewership data that spans both local and overseas fans, signaling a vibrant resurgence in the globe’s premier competitive circuit. From 2024 to 2025, the league’s Average Minute Audience (AMA) jumped by an astounding 42%, underscoring a fresh wave of enthusiasm for South Korean esports.
In some good news, #LCK is doing well.

While most Riot Games regions adopted a standardized three split calendar, the LCK carved its own path by launching a non competitive winter event, the LCK Cup, as a seasonal opener.
The league streamlined its format further by unifying the year into one regular season and declaring just a single annual champion, fostering a more cohesive and high-stakes narrative.
LCK’s Worldwide Appeal Takes Off
The accompanying visuals break down the LCK’s viewership metrics, painting a clear picture of its 2025 momentum relative to the prior year. The overall AMA climbed from 439,000 to more than 620,000 viewers per minute a robust 42% gain. At home in South Korea, the rise was a solid 31%, with domestic figures advancing from 175,000 to 230,000.
The real fireworks, however, ignited internationally, driven by the league’s unmatched competitive prowess. Korean squads have dominated recent Worlds tournaments, appearing in every one of the past six finals and claiming victory in five. This pedigree, combined with the cutthroat domestic rivalries particularly the ongoing showdowns among powerhouses like T1, Gen.G, and Hanwha Life Esports for Worlds berths has captivated global audiences.
In contrast, other major leagues have faltered: Europe’s scene has plateaued, and China’s LPL has steadily shed its former luster. The LCK’s international AMA soared by almost 50%, from 264,000 to 394,000, with China accounting for 43% of foreign eyes, followed by 23% tuning into English streams and 20% from Vietnam.
