Legacy make history at CAC 2025 with tournament victory
Legacy made organisational history with their victory at CAC 2025, the team’s first international trophy.
The Brazilian roster hoisted the trophy in Shanghai’s Oriental Sports Center.
It was a red letter day for Brazilian Counter-Strike, as Furia defeated NaVi in a reverse sweep later in the day at the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 Grand Final.

How Legacy secured the CAC 2025 title
Legacy upset the French roster of 3DMAX 3-2 in a captivating Grand Final in Shanghai.
Not since the 1998 FIFA World Cup final have France and Brazil duked it out in such a fashion, but this time Brazil came out on top.
The Brazilians started the stronger, playing out an extremely dominant CT-side half on Nuke.
Despite being 3DMAX’s first pick, the French roster struggled to find space or opportunity on the T-side as they fell to a 2-10 deficit.
That meant Legacy only needed three round on their own T-side, with a pistol and conversion getting them two-thirds of the way there before a final gun round closed the map 13-6.
Dust 2 followed with 3DMAX recovering in the series to lead 6-0, but Legacy fought back to a 7-5 half in what was a streaky contest.
The even contest could have gone either way, with 3DMAX closing the map from 10-11 down to win 13-11 with three consecutive T-rounds.
By the conclusion of Inferno, the series looked firmly in control of the French.
Inferno, a map that has historically been home territory for Legacy’s entry specialist, Eduardo ‘dumau’ Wolkmer.
Instead it was a nightmare for the Brazilians, who were easily shut down on their T-side. 3DMAX converted their own T-side quickly to make it 13-5 on the map, and 2-1 in the series.
Legacy were not to be vanquished though, as an 8-4 CT-side on Train saw the map in the balance. However, multi-kills from Lucas ‘Lux’ Meneghini put Legacy on their way to victory, closing the map 13-10.
Going into the decider, it was clear which side had the momentum as Legacy took 10 unanswered rounds to take control of the Grand Final once and for all.
dumau and Bruno ‘latto’ Rebelatto starred in the run, as they so often had at CAC, as Legacy marched to victory in lightning fashion.
In the end, the series finished how it had started: With Legacy shutting down 3DMAX’s T-sides and closing out the game on T-side easily, winning 13-6.
The victory completed a historic run for Legacy, who defeated Virtus.pro, FUT, Heroic, and 3DMAX twice to claim the trophy, only dropping one series to Liquid earlier in the event.
Legacy secured $350,000 with 3DMAX taking home $170,000 and runner-up medals.
