LoL Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage draw and preview

The League of Legends World Championship 2025 Swiss Stage is set following the conclusion of the Play-Ins.

Reigning World Champions T1 defeated the LPL’s Invictus Gaming 3-1 to claim their place in the tournament.

That earned the LCK a fourth Worlds seed, and confirmed the full Worlds 2025 line-up as IG were eliminated.

LoL Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage Round 1 matches

Vico Keyd Stars (11/8) vs Team Secret Whales (8/15)

This match-up is an interesting one as both organisations make their international LoL tournament debuts.

Plus, both teams are their respective regions’ second seeds.

Hence why Secret Whales are favoured as CFO have proven the LCP’s strength at every international event this year.

While LTA teams have struggled, particularly LTA South teams as FURIA were knocked out of the MSI Play-Ins by another LCP team in GAM Esports.

CFO (4.7) vs Fnatic (5/4)

Another exciting match-up, Fnatic will face a very difficult opening match-up.

CFO have already proven they can defeat LEC teams after defeating Karmine Corp at First Stand and Movistar Koi at MSI.

Though CFO also lost a best-of-five to KCorp at First Stand too, showing Fnatic may have a chance.

However, Fnatic were handily defeated by MKOI in the LEC finals after a very inconsistent year.

Meanwhile, CFO are one of only three LoL teams with a total rin rate above 80% in 2025.

KT Rolster (4/11) vs Movistar KOI (15/8)

Unsurprisingly, the LCK’s KT Rolster are heavy favourites against EMEA’s second seeds.

The LCK has been the strongest region in LoL this year – HLE won First Stand while Gen.G won MSI.

That automatically favours KT here though anything can happen in best-of-ones.

MKOI lost both of their series at MSI, losing 3-1 to BLG and 3-1 to CFO.

However, the fact that they took a game in both of those series suggests there is a decent chance MKOI can cause a Bo1 upset.

Bilibili Gaming (1/12) vs 100 Thieves (11/2)

LPL champions are overwhelming favourites to win here and it’s easy to see why.

The LPL #1 vs LTA’s #3 is a mismatch in itself, but 1ooT’s poor preparation knocks their chances even further down.

Jungler Kim ‘River’ Dong-woo has been unable to join the team’s bootcamp in China due to visa issues.

As a result, he has been scrimming with them from Korea with awful lag, leaving team morale at an all-time low.

FlyQuest (11/4) vs T1 (2/9)

LTA champions FlyQuest are one of the strongest Western teams in the tournament.

Last year, the exact same roster line-up forced Gen.G to five games in an incredible performance.

However, it’s hard to bet against the reigning World Champions who have won the last two Worlds iterations.

T1 have to be favourites though they have been inconsistent this year, hence their status as fourth seeds.

Though playing a best-of-five on-stage on the Worlds patch will give T1 a significant advantage here.

Hanwha Life Esports (8/15) vs Anyone’s Legend (11/8)

LCK vs LPL match-ups are always exciting.

HLE have to be favourites having won First Stand earlier this year and with reigning World Champion Choi ‘Zeus’ Woo-je on their roster.

However, Anyone’s Legend have shown they are a strong team in their own right.

With AL’s team-fighting capabilities, they could cause an upset in this best-of-one format.

G2 Esports (6/5) vs Top Esports (8/13)

Another spicy match-up between the LEC champions and the LPL’s second seeds very capable third seeds.

If G2 are to have a strong tournament and prove that the roster has finally reached a high level, a win here would certainly prove that.

But until then, TES from the fight-heavy LPL is always going to be favoured in a best-of-one.

Gen.G (1/25) vs PSG Talon (17/2)

LCK Summer and MSI champions Gen.G are favourites to win LoL Worlds 2025 so, of course, are favoured here.

Gen.G were able to go through last year’s Swiss Stage undefeated, and it’s expected they’ll do the same again this year.

PSG aren’t a team to be underestimated, but it’s hard to imagine them causing what would be a major upset here.
