Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Announces 2026 Esports Roadmap

MOONTON Games is setting its sights on discovering fresh talent from up-and-coming areas in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) scene.

In a significant move toward global growth, MOONTON Games has announced the 2026 esports roadmap for MLBB, featuring a comprehensive five region system aimed at creating a more unified worldwide competitive landscape.

This updated framework represents a key advancement in MLBB’s strategy to foster grassroots development alongside elite international play, offering clearer routes for all regions to reach the pinnacle of competition.

Key Elements of the 2026 MLBB Esports Roadmap: Five Regions and a Fresh Tournament

From 2026 onward, MLBB esports will shift to a consolidated structure comprising five regions: Southeast Asia (SEA), Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), East Asia (EA), and the Americas (AMER).

This setup is intended to enhance regional pride and connectivity, with each area equipped with customized support systems and growth opportunities to nurture both new and veteran markets.

A highlight of the roadmap is the introduction of the Championship Tour, an inter-regional event that will initially launch in the AMER, EA, and SEA regions.

The tournament seeks to elevate local rivalries and highlight emerging stars on an expanded platform.

Tiger Xu, Global Head of MLBB Esports at MOONTON Games, stated, “With this blueprint, we’re taking a long-term view of what MLBB Esports can be. Every community will have the chance to grow and develop its own identity while remaining connected to a larger ecosystem. This transition is as much about integration as it is about expansion.”

Standout teams emerging from this new system will qualify for major global events, such as the M8 World Championship in Turkiye, the Esports Nations Cup 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Esports World Cup competitions including the Mid Season Cup (MSC) and MLBB Women’s Invitational (MWI), both hosted in Riyadhevents that are drawing attention from esports betting enthusiasts.

In another milestone, MLBB will make its debut as a medal event at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya 2026, elevating the game to one of the premier competitions in the region.

Domestically, MOONTON has revealed a transformative change for the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Malaysia, which will implement a Partnership Programme starting in 2026.

This approach will feature eight key partners drawn from top Malaysian squads and global entities guaranteeing their spots in the nation’s premier league.

These teams will benefit from sustained operational security and broader revenue streams.

MPL Malaysia remains one of MLBB’s core professional circuits, joining MPL Indonesia and MPL Philippines as flagship leagues.
