OpTic Gaming and Monster Energy Launch $25K FCV Black Ops 7 Tournament

North American esports powerhouse OpTic Gaming, two time Call of Duty League (CDL) champions, has teamed up with Monster Energy to host the inaugural First Cup V (FCV) tournament for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

Announced November 18, 2025, the pre season “variant” event features 16 teams battling for a $25,000 (~£19,079) prize pool across CDL modes Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and Overload.

Tournament Breakdown

Qualifiers: Four open rounds November 20-24 on StartGG, CODAgent, Play Rivals Gaming, and Console King. Top 2 from each advance (8 total).
Main Event: November 28 – 8 qualifiers vs. 8 direct invites (TBD). Double elimination bracket TBD.
Format: 4v4, NA-hosted, aligning with 2025/26 CDL season.

Partnership Power-Up

OpTic Gaming’s June 2025 partnership with Monster Energy, hailed by CEO H3CZ as “cultural alignment,” integrates the brand across facilities, LAN events, and social content for collaborative activations and docs.

This fuels the $25K FCV Black Ops 7 tournament first since 2012 plus Monster’s $75K Launch Invitational with CDL pros like HECZ at NYC parties, increasing the pre season hype.
