In a storybook finish at the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 5 Championship in Sapporo, Japan, underdog orgless squad Oblivion emerged victorious, sealing the deal with a dramatic match point in a nine game marathon.

The Canadian trio ‘Blinkzr’ (tournament MVP), ‘Monsoon’, and ‘FunFPS’  nabbed the top prize of $600,000 from the $2 million pool, etching their names in ALGS history.

They punched their LAN ticket by dominating Americas Last Chance Qualifiers in October 2025. A shaky group stage (19th out of 40) sent them to lower bracket round 2 peril, but a gritty third place bracket run propelled them to finals glory their first championship as a unit.

Ten teams hit Match Point eligibility (50+ points) across nine games, turning the finale on Storm Point into pure chaos. Oblivion fortified The Pylon with Wattson fences, surviving as the last eligible squad in a nail biting three way with Supernova and Hotdog Mafia. A daring endgame push netted 13 kills, clinching 86 total points.

Early frontrunners like Team Falcons faltered despite a 14 kill Game 1 Storm Point chicken dinner and Game 2 Olympus runner up (75 points total). They crashed out 13th in the decider after losing star ‘ImperialHal’. ENTER FORCE.36 nearly stole Game 8 but fell to Virtus.pro others like GROW Gaming, S8UL Esports, Crazy Thieves, TSM, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Fnatic, and UNLIMIT contended fiercely.
