One of Call of Duty’s most popular League franchises has announced a new Warzone tournament, with Toronto Ultra presenting a $25,000 competition this week.

Who are Toronto Ultra?

Toronto Ultra is a is a professional esports team based out of Canada.

The team was formed in 2019 and represents Toronto in the Call of Duty League where they have won multiple tournaments.

OverActive Media owns Toronto Ultra who were prominent in the Call of Duty scene last year, earning eight top three finishes at tournaments in an impressive 2024.

This year has been more of a struggle for the team in tournaments. Toronto Ultra hasn’t earned a top two finish in 2025 as of yet in a much harder year for the franchise.

Now hosting their own event in October, Toronto Ultra will be hoping for a better result to really kickstart their year.

What is the new Toronto Ultra Warzone tournament?

The recently announced Toronto Ultra tournament will get underway from October 7th and is the latest edition of the team’s Hot Drop esports series.

The event will be the biggest of its kind since the World Series of Warzone Global Final 2025 which took place in September.

A total prize pool of $25,000 will be handed out for the tournament – which has once again partnered with Monster Energy – as the winners will take home $10,000.

Like in the other Hot Drop events, trios will compete on Verdansk and earn points based on eliminations. A multiplier will be applied to teams’ points based on where they place in the game.

Points multipliers

Last year’s Hot Drop event was one of the most popular for Call of Duty’s competitive scene. 42,050 fans in total tuned in to the tournament which lasted just over six hours.

Falcons trio Andrew ‘Biffle‘ Diaz, Kasimili ‘Hisoka‘ Tongamoa, and ‘Shifty‘ were last year’s winners.

‘Shifty’ is once again going to be at the tournament. The Team Falcons star will look to retain his title with new teammates Riley zSmit‘ Smith and Logan ‘Skullface‘ Greifelt.
