GamerLegion Sweep JiJieHao and Keep Perfect EWC Start
GamerLegion swept JiJieHao 2-0 in the Group A upper-bracket semifinal at the Esports World Cup 2026, winning Dust2 13-3 and Ancient 13-8 to secure a place in the playoffs. The team has won both of its opening matches without dropping a map.
August 13 marked EWC 2026’s move from best-of-one matches to best-of-three series. GamerLegion joined G2, Falcons and FaZe in securing playoff spots that day, while five of the six series finished 2-0.
GamerLegion Take Control on Both Maps
Dust2 was JiJieHao’s map pick, but GamerLegion established control early. A 10-2 first half left JiJieHao with little room to recover, and the Chinese side won only one further round after the break as GamerLegion completed a 13-3 victory.
Ancient proved more competitive. GamerLegion held a 7-5 lead at halftime before gradually pulling away after the side switch to close the map 13-8 and complete the sweep.
A Perfect Start Continues
The result followed GamerLegion’s 13-3 win over Luminosity on Nuke in their opening match. Across those two series, GamerLegion have won three consecutive maps while conceding 14 rounds in total.
The win also moved GamerLegion from 22nd to 21st in the Valve Regional Standings after they gained 38 VRS points. JiJieHao lost 10 points and fell from 32nd to 35th.
What Comes Next
GamerLegion advance directly to the EWC 2026 CS2 main event playoffs after winning their first two matches. JiJieHao remain in the tournament’s lower part of the group after their defeat.
JiJieHao had opened their campaign with a 13-10 win over Team Spirit on Mirage. Their next match is scheduled for Saturday against Aurora or M80, with another playoff opportunity on the line.
