HEROIC Move On From yxngstxr After Major Qualification

Simon ‘yxngstxr’ Boye has officially departed HEROIC’s CS2 roster, with the organization confirming the move and stating the Swede is embarking on a new journey as he becomes available for offers from other teams.

Boye joined HEROIC in 2025 and cycled through several roles during his tenure. At the start of 2026, he returned from the bench to fill in for the AWP slot after Alcarena ran into visa issues, a stopgap role that ended up defining much of his recent playtime.

It was in that sniper role that yxngstxr helped push HEROIC to the first stage of the IEM Cologne Major, though his season-long rating settled at 6.1 – a number that drew immediate criticism from fans questioning why a player at that output level was the one moving on rather than being pushed out.

Path to the Exit

HEROIC shifted yxngstxr to the inactive roster during a summer reshuffle, after which he kept active at tier-2 level. He stood in for EYEBALLERS at BLAST Bounty Season 2 and logged additional reps with the mix squad Raccoons, keeping his form visible to potential suitors even while off HEROIC’s active list.

The current HEROIC lineup now reads nilo, susp, Chr1zN, MartinezSa, and Brollan, with doto behind the bench as coach – a core assembled through the same reshuffle that pushed yxngstxr out. How that group performs will be the first real test of whether the roster overhaul was the right call, particularly with HEROIC among the sides already accepting invitations to upcoming IEM Beijing 2026 qualifiers.

What Happens Next

No destination has been confirmed for yxngstxr, and HEROIC hasn’t named a direct replacement for his slot. His situation adds to a crowded run of CS2 roster movement this cycle, following other high-profile departures reshaping team strength across the scene and broader free-agent activity that continues to shift lineup depth ahead of the next event window.
