BESTIA’s Curitiba win tightens Singapore Major race

BESTIA and Fluxo are now joint-tenth in the Americas Valve Regional Standings following Circuit X Curitiba, sitting just 14 Valve points from the qualification zone for the Singapore Major. paiN, ranked ninth in the region, picked up the same 14 points from the event, a result that did nothing to create separation from the teams chasing them.

BESTIA won the title outright, beating Bounty Hunters in the final and dropping only one match all week – a 0-2 loss to Galorys in the group stage. The run, worth 204 Valve points, marked BESTIA’s first LAN appearance since adding André ‘drop’ Abreu and Kaue ‘kauez’ Kaschuk, and followed the team’s earlier roster shakeup around the tomaszin transfer to MIBR. Fluxo, meanwhile, finished second in Group C behind ShindeN before upsetting top seed paiN in the quarter-finals, falling to Bounty Hunters in the semis, and beating ShindeN in the third-place decider.

Dust2 Brasil named drop tournament MVP, a recognition he did not expect given his role on the roster.

“It’s really cool,” he said after the final. “I never thought I’d win an MVP medal because of my role, but I’m happy I was able to help the team, too. At the end of the day, stats are a little bit irrelevant when you think about the success of the team. But, of course, I’m very happy to have this individual achievement, which proves that, at this early stage, I’m moving in the right direction.”

What’s next

For paiN, who bolstered their roster with VSM and PiriaJr earlier in the year, another underwhelming showing shifts focus to FERJEE In House from September 23-27, where Imperial and Bounty Hunters are expected to be the main threats. BESTIA travel to the United States for iBUYPOWER Masters FML, while Fluxo head to Portugal for LEON.bet Masters Season 1 – both chasing the points that could put them level with, or past, a paiN side still searching for the result that stops the bleeding, following their recent form against international opposition.
