Gen.G vs Hanwha Life Esports

The upcoming match between Gen.G and Hanwha Life Esports is a match-up that Gen.G didn’t want. Indeed, after Dplus was selected to face Nongshim, Gen.G was forced to match up against Hanwha.

Heading into this tournament, Gen.G were one of the obvious League of Legends betting favourites after winning MSI 2024 and placing 3-4th at the 2024 World Championship. However, at the LoL KeSPA Cup, Gen.G fell short despite a strong start, finishing 3-4th just like Hanwha Life.

Meanwhile, Hanwha started the tournament in the weaker Group Baron. With the strong signing of Choi “Zeus” Woo-je, this team has reached a new level while trying to maintain the form from their win at the LCK Summer 2024. In addition, Hanwha turned heads after eliminating T1 from the LCK Cup.

Considering what we’ve discussed, it’s no surprise that Gen.G Esports are favoured in this match-up.

Dplus – A Return to Form?

Dplus is back. Falling from the stars in the past two seasons, the former world championship-winning roster has struggled to bounce back and return to its former glory.

Last season, a resurgence saw them win the LCK Regional Finals and compete at Worlds to finish 9-11th. With work still to be done, Dplus went ahead and signed the likes of “Siwoo” and “BeryL”, where these signings have pulled through massively.

Finishing second at the recent KeSPA Cup, Dplus started off the LCK Cup with a superb 5-0 record, taking down Gen.G in the process. Making quick work of Nongshim in the Playoffs, they now sit in the Semifinal with high hopes.

Regardless of who shows up, whether Gen.G or Hanwha – the match is going to be a banger.
