League of Legends at the Esports World Cup is happening featuring a curious line-up of eight international teams. Two teams from each of the four major regions have been invited to the event, for a single run off at the grand prize. Format & Schedule
With no qualification process involved, the following global League of Legends teams have been invited, two from all of the major LoL regions:

- FlyQuest (LCS)
- G2 Esports (LEC)
- Fnatic (LEC)
- Gen.G Esports (LCK)
- T1 (LCK)
- Bilibili Gaming (LPL)
- Top Esports (LPL)
Featuring an incredibly simple format with simple LoL odds, all teams started in the Quarterfinals of a Single-Elimination Bracket with the following matches:
- Bilibili Gaming vs T1
- Team Liquid vs Fnatic
- Gen.G Esports vs Top Esports
- G2 Esports vs FlyQuest
Each match is a BO3 building up to the BO5 Finals.

Difficulties were found in organizing this tournament due to the scheduling clash with the ongoing regional LoL leagues – hence not many teams were invited.
From the teams that were invited, however, some of the best in the world were picked. Here’s a look at the placements of teams at the recent Mid-Season Invitational 2024:
