Team Liquid – Can’t Touch This

Heading into PGL Wallachia Season 3, hopes weren’t very high for this Team Liquid roster. After finishing 7-8th at three consecutive international tournaments, nothing’s changed about the roster except for a new run of form.

Specifically, during the PGL Wallachia Group Stage, Team Liquid decided to be one of the best Dota teams in the world. As one of the only two undefeated teams, Liquid took down Natus Vincere and Aurora – so what? Up until then, there were doubts, but after they crushed Tundra 2-0, who just finished 2nd at DreamLeague Season 25, there’s no doubting them anymore, according to the Dota 2 odds.

For the first time in a while, Liquid are favoured to finish higher than 7th. Starting off with a rematch against Aurora, in which they are favoured (1.37), Liquid will likely have to face Xtreme in the Upper Bracket Semifinal. Without a doubt, having the easier side of the bracket, this tournament is the perfect time for Liquid to bounce back.

Team Spirit – PGL Wallachia Favourites

Regardless of Team Liquid’s rise in form, Team Spirit remains favoured to win the tournament. Having just won the DreamLeague Season 25 in an epic 3:2 Grand Final, denying Tundra another win, Spirit hasn’t skipped a beat at this Dota 2 tournament.

Moreover, just like Liquid, Spirit has maintained a clean sheet with convincing wins over multiple strong teams, such as Gaimin Gladiators and Team Falcons, besides OG. Indeed, there’s no arguing that Spirit has had a tougher run than Liquid at this tournament. Although they find themselves in the more difficult side of the bracket, Spirit is favoured against every team they face.

We’re not sure whether Tundra or Liquid have what it takes to stop Team Spirit right now.

What’s going on with Tundra?

The last team we want to talk about is Tundra Esports. Favoured as one of the best teams at the event, only second to Spirit, Tundra has already won $800,000 of prize pool since the start of 2025.

Although starting with a 2-0 record in the Group Stage, Tundra Esports went on an unexpected loss streak, losing to Team Liquid and Xtreme. At risk of being eliminated before the Playoffs, they hung on with a crucial win over Natus Vincere.

While they are strongly favoured against Gaimin Gladiators, they can’t afford any more slip-ups against the best Dota 2 teams in the world.

Speaking of which, Tundra’s drop in form could be opening the door to other teams such as Falcons and Gaimin, though we’re not too sure they’ll make a dent in the PGL Wallachia Season 3 Playoffs.
