While VALORANT and League of Legends continue to dominate the esports scene, Teamfight Tactics esports 2025 is also on Riot Game’s mind. Accordingly, we’re diving into the most exciting news after releasing a new esports circuit.
Tactician’s Crown – An Organized Look
Riot Games is known for having some of the best-organized esports scenes and incredible esports betting opportunities. Creating Teamfight Tactics during the auto-battler craze of 2019, the game was always propped up to be the next best mobile esport.
After a few years of grassroots tournaments and gradually increasing investment, Riot Games has announced a new look for TeamFight Tactics esports 2025.
Split into three levels, here’s a look at what things look like from a distance:
Indeed, the new premier event series for TeamFight Tactics is now known as the Tactician’s Crown.
Described by the latest Developer Drop from Riot Games, the structure involves qualification heats starting with the Tactician’s Cup, followed by the Golden Spatula and leading to the Tactician’s Crown.
Each iteration of the Tactician’s Crown ends with the best 8 players in the world competing across three days.
Earning a spot at this tournament will involve playing through the Golden Spatula across every region. Here are the stages of the Golden Spatula:
- Two weekends of competition
- Three stages
- Play-Ins – 16 players, top eight move on
- Week 1 – 48 players, compete and 20 players move on
- Week 2 – 32 players, qualify for Tier 1
Weird Timing?
While we welcome any change to improve an esport, it’s odd to see Riot Games making a change half-way through the season.
Indeed, this could mean that the esport isn’t performing as well as they hoped – let’s see if this change can add some excitement.
