Team Liquid swept G2 2-0 – 13-6 on Anubis, 13-5 on Mirage – at BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 on July 25 to become the second team confirmed for the Malta LAN finals, joining FaZe as the second team through to the BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 finals without dropping a single map against either Vitality or G2.
Anubis Then Mirage: Liquid Never Let G2 Breathe
Liquid won Anubis on the back of a collective effort despite surrendering both pistol rounds – a detail that underscores how comfortably they controlled the rifle rounds when it mattered. On Mirage, Georgi ‘Jorko’ Mitev and Jonathan ‘EliGE’ Jablonowski operated as a relentless pick-hunting duo, consistently finding openings across the map before G2 could establish any meaningful setups.
EliGE led all players across the series with a 1.45 rating, going 36-21 with 97.4 ADR. Jorko posted 29-16 and a 1.38 rating, with an 89.2% KAST – the highest of anyone in the server. For context on how Liquid arrived at this lineup, the roster integration of both JT and Jorko was still very recent entering the tournament. JT contributed a serviceable 1.06 rating across the two maps, while NAF chipped in a solid 1.16 with an efficient 26-14 K-D.
G2’s side of the scoreboard was a collective collapse. huNter- finished 13-30 with a 0.61 rating, HeavyGod went 17-30 at 0.64, and MATYS posted a 0.67 rating with K-D of 16-30. Even r1nkle – G2’s newest addition, brought in to replace Álvaro ‘SunPayus’ García – ended at a 0.91 rating. G2 put up only 11 combined rounds across both maps, never threatening to extend either to a competitive state.
Jorko’s Debut Run Validates the Rebuild
The 17-year-old Bulgarian AWPer averaged a 1.29 rating across the full online phase of the tournament, The combination of a veteran core in EliGE and NAF with a young AWPer producing at this clip is the structural argument Liquid’s rebuild has been pointing toward – and this tournament delivered the first clear evidence it can function at a high level.
G2’s tournament exit highlights a recurring problem: r1nkle’s debut with the team produced nothing to suggest the roster overhaul has solved their consistency issues. The squad beat Nemiga to reach the Liquid matchup but was then dismantled in a way that made that win look like a floor, not a ceiling. G2’s Day 1 performance in the event had already raised questions about the new lineup’s cohesion.
Malta Finals: Liquid and FaZe Confirmed
Liquid join FaZe as the first two teams locked into the BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 Malta finals, scheduled for August 30–September 2. The LAN field will bring a sharply different test from the online phase – FaZe’s current lineup features frozen, Twistzz, and enkay J, and any Liquid vs. FaZe matchup at that stage will carry genuine bracket weight. Whether Jorko’s rating holds on LAN is the central question Liquid bring into Malta.
