Let’s take a closer look at each Group and pick out the esports odds favourites to make it out.
Group A – Falcons Keep Flying?
Over in Group A, Team Falcons are the absolute favourites to come out on top and earn the first seed into the Playoffs. Bolstered by a triple roster change in May, the defending DreamHack Dallas 2024 champions are also favourites to win the entire tournament. Considering their lead in the EWC Club Championship standings, another win here could seal the deal for Team Falcons.
Their fiercest competition in Group A is XSET, a North American team fielding a mixture of veterans and new blood which formed the roster in May – winning the NA Closed Qualifier for this tournament.
Meanwhile, DRAGONS eSports and ZETA DIVISION seed from minor regions and will be hard-pressed to earn a second-place finish according to Fortnite odds.
Group B – PWR on the Prowl
Hailing all the way from Oceania, PWR are defending regional champions (Closed Qualifier) with a seasoned roster that tends to struggle internationally. Despite this, they are favoured in this curious group.
Other than PWR, the three remaining teams are all on even footing. BEST TEAM is an open bracket team with absolutely no history, Gaimin Gladiators won the European Closed Qualifier but finished 13-16th at DreamHack Dallas and Exceed has a very confusing 11-man roster with nothing to show for it.
Out of these three, we’d pick Gaimin Gladiators to finish second.
Group C – Karmine Corp in Form
Forging a new roster back in May, Karmine Corp has risen to prominence after finishing 3rd at the DreamHack Dallas 2024 tournament. However, contributing more to their status as esports betting favourites is the fact that “Malibuca” and “panzer” have dominated in Cash Cups across Europe while “SwizzY” and “Vanyak3kk” have crushed Europe.
Finishing second, it’s most likely Fnatic following up their 5-6th finish at DreamHack Dallas 2024 with their new roster. The remaining open bracket teams of VBBX and Team Kalgamer710 don’t stand much of a chance.
Group D – Closest Competition
Group D features the most exciting teams, with HEROIC and Dignitas closely matched and battling for the first two spots.
After finishing fourth at DreamHack Dallas, HEROIC has impressed the community and this team has proven itself as one of the best out there with its Danish roster. However, there are doubts as to whether they can maintain this recent bump in form.
Over on Dignitas, they’re led by former Fortnite World Cup champion, Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf who is hungry to prove himself as the best Fortnite player of all time.
