IEM Rio 2025 Grand Final Preview: MOUZ vs NAVI
After a week of fierce competition in Brazil, only two teams are left with a chance to lift the IEM Rio 2024 trophy – MOUZ and NAVI. Read who we think will come out on top in our Grand Final preview below.
MOUZ shock Brazilian fans
Everybody knows that when MOUZ are on their A-game they are one of the best CS2 teams in the world. However, it’s not often that we see the young squad perform up to their potential. The case was different in Rio, where they prevailed in a quarter-final thriller against Vitality, before absolutely trouncing FURIA in a dead silent arena.

From the outside, it seemed like FURIA had a realistic chance of besting MOUZ and making a historic run on home soil. As it turned out, that couldn’t be further from the truth. MOUZ turned the Rio arena into a library, completely dominating the Brazilians on both maps and sending a firm message to their competitors.
The individual level of all their players, including the IGL siuhy, seems to be in a great place. Each one of them has shown flashes of brilliance in this tournament, with the best performance coming out from torzsi in their semi-final bout.
On the server that day there was no match for the Hungarian AWPer, who singlehandedly claimed his team multiple entries and key impact frags throughout the series. His sniper prowess will be detrimental to MOUZ’s chances in Sunday’s Grand Final.
NAVI perseveres once again
NAVI continues to show why they are the CS2 betting favorites in nearly every tournament they attend. The international powerhouse will be entering its sixth consecutive Grand Final, maintaining the highest level of consistency among top teams at the moment.
Ever since the summer player break, NAVI’s level has remained exceptionally high, with four of the five players on the roster putting up extremely good numbers in every event. Another key factor of their success in the second half of 2024 is their resilience.
Midway through the second map of the IEM Rio semi-final against HEROIC, NAVI looked down and out. However, the reigning Major champions never gave up and completed the comeback, after being one map down and trailing behind 0-7 on the second. Such a performance will inspire a lot of confidence in the NAVI players ahead of their game against MOUZ.
Understandably, the CS2 odds are in NAVI’s favor. They are the more consistent team and have more recent experience in high-pressure Grand Final games. Additionally, NAVI’s map pool is much wider than that of MOUZ which is a huge advantage in a BO5 format.
