Is T1 in Trouble?
After a dominant showing at the Esports World Cup and LoL Worlds Championship 2024, T1 were heavy favourites to win the KeSPA Cup. However, despite the favouring LoL odds, T1 demonstrated the following record in the opening stage:
- T1 (0-1) Gen.G
- Dplus KIA (1-0) T1
- Hanwha Life Esports (1-0) T1
- T1 (0-1) Nongshim RedForce
- Vietnam (1-0) T1
Following a recent roster shuffle as Doran joined and Zeus left, the reason for the lack of performance seems obvious. Moreover, T1 may need more time to refine its new formula ahead of the coming season. In addition, following such an intense season, perhaps the team is feeling a little burnt out.
For the time being, we’d give them a pass and see how they do in the upcoming LCK Regular Season. However, all eyes are on this roster and their upcoming matches.
KeSPA Cup Main Event – Coming Up
After the preliminary stage, the main event is incoming. Featuring a unique waterfall bracket format not seen in other LoL tournaments, as only one match per round will go towards qualification into the Knockout Stage.
Here are the outright match odds for the opening round:
- Qualification Match – BRION (3.27/+227) vs Gen.G (1.30/-333)
- Chinese Taipei (2.90/+190) vs Dplus (1.37/-270)
- KT Rolster (2.95/+195) vs Hanwha Life Esports (1.36/-270)

Currently, BRION and Gen.G are looking like the favourites for the event. Between the two, we’d lean towards Gen.G as the Korean heavyweights look to reclaim the region as they did in the past season.
