Region of Winner Odds
Region of Winner | Odds (Oct. 17) |
---|---|
LPL | 1.4 / -250 |
LCK | 2.8 / +180 |

The Swiss Stage also sees the entrance of the tournament’s Korean and Chinese heavyweights, a few of which are among the most likely to reach the latter stages and make up the LoL Worlds favorites.
The winner, and even both finalists, are almost certainly going to come from these regions. In fact, the LPL currently has odds of 1.4 (-250) to see one of its sides crowned as the world champion via GGBet while the LCK has odds of 2.8 (+180).
The LEC is the third-most likely, though a long distance behind with LoL Worlds betting odds of 18.0 (+1700).
Top 5 Teams to Reach the Final Odds
To Reach the Final | Odds (Oct. 17) |
---|---|
JD Gaming | 1.57 / -175 |
LNG Esports | 3.7 / +270 |
Gen.G | 3.75 / +275 |
T1 | 4.4 / +340 |
Bilibili Gaming | 4.5 / +350 |
Looking specifically at which teams are most likely to reach the final it’s no surprise to see China’s JD Gaming as the sole favorites. At odds of 1.57 (-175), they are the standouts by far – not surprising given that the side is currently on course to complete League of Legends esports first ever grand slam (x2 domestic titles, MSI and Worlds within the same season).
JD begin their Worlds run against Europe’s Team BDS, a matchup heavily in JD’s favor, and are expected to make light work of the LEC fourth seed. Beyond that we won’t know who they’ll face next until the first round is complete, however, the fact that it will be another 1-0 team means that it’s more likely than not going to be one of the other strong sides. Still, having five chances to gain three wins should be more than enough for a powerhouse like JDG.
Behind them as second-favorites to reach the final are LPL opponents LNG Esports. Despite entering as China’s third seed behind Bilibili Gaming, LNG arrive on the back of a second-place finish in the LPL Summer playoffs and winning China’s Regional Finals to gain their spot. This means that they enter Worlds as China’s second-most in-form side, a large factor in them sitting as the second-favorites to reach the final with odds of 3.7 (+270).
The key factor in seeing them get there will be their avoidance of JDG up to the final. Facing them in the Swiss stage won’t be a huge issue unless they somehow meet in an elimination match, but avoiding that will mean that LNG has ample opportunity to progress even if they suffer a loss early in the Swiss stage.
Also hoping to avoid JDG in their potential finals run is Korea’s first seed Gen.G; third-favorites to reach the final at 3.75 (+275). They’ve dominated domestically for some time but have so far been unable to translate that into international success. Should they enter another competition as LCK’s top side and fail to claim a title once again then serious questions will start being asked of this side’s metal.
Rounding out the top five sides favored to reach the Worlds 2023 final are Korea’s T1 (4.4 / +340) and China’s Bilibili Gaming (4.5 / +350).
BLG faces a tricky start to the Main Event with an opening tie against LCK’s KT Rolster, making them the only side of the top-five favorites to reach the final that starts the Swiss stage against LCK or LPL opposition.
The Swiss format is forgiving though, so a loss to KT wouldn’t be the end of the world. Though it wouldn’t be the most confidence-filling start for the MSI runners-up.
