Riot Reveals the LTA – The New LoL League
Ahead of the 2025 LoL season, Riot Games revealed their plan to merge multiple regions into a new one. Now coined the “LTA”, we’re diving into the most recent announcement which will influence LoL betting for the season to come.
Championship of the Americas – LTA

The LCS, LLA and CBLoL regions are now united in the League of Legends Championship of the Americas, or LTA. Moreover, some of the best LoL players are in this region.
Split into two conferences, there is LTA North (LTAN) and LTA South (LTAS). Here’s how competing teams are split:
- LTAN – LCS Partner Teams (x6), LLA Partner Team (x1), Guest Team (x1)
- Cloud9, Team Liquid Honda, FlyQuest, Shopify Rebellion, Dignitas, 100 Thieves, Lyon Gaming, Disguised
- LTAS – CBLoL Partner Teams (x6), LLA Partner Team (x1), Guest Team (x1)
- Fluxo, FURIA, LOUD, pAIN Gaming, RED Canids Kalunga, Vivo Keyd Stars, Leviatan, Isurus
In addition, venues vary also. While LTAN will play out in Los Angeles, LTAS will remain in Sao Paulo. Bearing this in mind, there are plenty of League of Legends betting opportunities.
Riot has also imposed some roster limitations, balancing residency rules and foreign talent. This should help fight off the abundance of Korean imports which was seen in the past.
The LTA 2025 Season
Those are the teams, what about the format?
Split across three splits, here are some salient findings:
- Split 1 – January 25th 2025 – double-elimination BO3 Fearless Draft. Winners of each conference qualify for the new international event.
- Split 2 – TBD 2025 – double-elimination playoffs BO1. Winners of each conference qualify for MSI.
- Split 3 – TBD 2025 – Pick & Play format, winners earn direct seeds to Worlds.
There are huge expectations for the LTA this season, we can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
