PGL Wallachia Group Stage – Mid-Tier Focus

For this particular Dota betting preview, we’re focused on figuring out which teams will be part of the top 8 in the Group Stage. Bearing this in mind, we won’t spend too much time discussing tournament favourites who are clearly going to move on.
Here’s a look at the favourites to move on in the top 5 places:
- Tundra Esports
- Team Spirit
- Team Falcons
- Aurora Gaming
- Team Liquid
Those are five teams who we aren’t too worried about based on recent placings and overall quality of the rosters.
Who Else is Going to Playoffs?

With the favourites out of the way, we’re of the opinion that the spots from 5-8th are open for contention between the remaining teams. Here’s a look at our Dota predictions for who we think is in the conversation for these spots:
- Gaimin Gladiators – ever since “dyrachyo” was released, this team has seemingly lost its spark. Playing with a stand-in to finish 11-12th at DreamLegue Season 25, this team has regressed from its form in the past. However, there are sparks of brilliance as demonstrated by their 2nd place finish at BLAST Slam II. While they have the talent to make it to the Playoffs, inconsistency could haunt this team again.
- Xtreme Gaming – literally yesterday, Xtreme Gaming underwent an overhaul to bring on “Ame” and “Undyne” to the roster alongside a new coach. In addition, with the return of “Xxs” and “XinQ” to the roster, this is basically a new team. Making these changes after a rough start to the season, finishing 13-14th at DreamLeague, this is a dark horse which could soar or sink.
- HEROIC – since the turn of the season, HEROIC has been consistently average internationally and consistently dominant in South America. Going 7-8th at back-to-back tournaments of DreamLeague Season 25 and FISSURE PLAYGROUND, HEROIC is a solid pick to finish in the top 8 at the PGL Wallachia Group Stage.

- Team Tidebound – bursting onto the scene in January, Team Tidebound immediately became the best team in all of China. Featuring plenty of exciting talent, this is actually their first international event as a team – considering their record we can’t wait to see them compete alongside the best Dota 2 teams in the world.
- Nigma Galaxy – MENA’s best hope surprised everyone back in BLAST Slam II after finishing 3-4th. Competing very well at the recent PGL Wallachia Season 4 WEU Closed Qualifier, Nigma Galaxy is a strong contender to move on to the Playoffs.
Those are the five teams we visualize competing for the top 8 spots, offering an intense battle from 5-10th in the Group Stage.
Meanwhile, the odds are against AVULUS, Natus Vincere, OG, Yellow Submarine, Mosquito Clan and Wildcard to try and surprise the community.
