While we can’t discuss every team, here are some insights.
CDL Stage 1 Minor – FaZe is Final
After winning an incredible Grand Final at the CDL Stage 1 Major, FaZe Clan is back to being on top of Call of Duty. Despite this, they did suffer a fluky loss to Vancouver Surge in their first match back. Besides this, FaZe has dominated with crucial wins over OpTic Texas and Miami Heretics to maintain their spot near the top.
Vancouver and Cloud9 – Peaking Now
Lessons were learned about Vancouver at the CDL Stage Major, packing their bags with an early 9-12th exit. Stunning the community with a 3-1 win over FaZe as mentioned, Vancouver would stay flawless with victories over Cloud9 New York and LAG. Seeded against Boston, an early wins pits them against FaZe.
We’d also put Cloud9 in the same category as another team who is peaking and with a chip on their shoulder.
OpTic Roster Struggles – Horrible Performances

Earlier this season, everyone was talking about how Amer “Pred” Zulbeari left OpTic for mental health reasons to put the team in a rough spot. After a strong start, his return is joined by a shocking drop in form with the roster going 0-12 in their last 12 maps.
With such abysmal form, OpTic Texas need to turn things around to not start in a hole at the CDL Stage 2 Major.
An early exit against Vegas Falcons would send this team off the rails.
