With two months of competition to look forward to, we’re looking at the preliminary positioning phase for the time being across 5-20th Apri.
Liquid Running it Back?

Staying true to their 2023 roster, Team Liquid’s commitment to this core team has paid off. After finishing fourth at the LTA Split 1 tournament, Liquid then defied the odds after taking down Cloud9 and 100 Thieves to earn the Americas seed for LoL First Stand.
Moreover, their 3-0 Grand Final win over 100 Thieves was incredibly convincing. However, after finishing last at First Stand, their confidence may not be completely on fire against the best LoL teams. In addition, they have more gameplay for their competitors to review and anti-strat against with less of a break.
Despite this, they remain favoured to repeat this performance for LTA North Split 2.
FlyQuest – Can They Fly Again?
FlyQuest kicked off the season with a strong start in LTA Split 1, taking down Liquid in the Lower Bracket Final to qualify for the Cross-Conference.
However, once at the Cross-Conference, they lost to 100 Thieves with the smallest of margins to miss out on a chance to qualify for LoL First Stand.
Although there is some buzz around this team, esports betting sites are giving them quite a bit of credit for their win over Liquid and remembering their win at LCS Summer 2024 – the only team to beat them in Split 1.
100 Thieves – Fallen from Grace?

Despite selling their LTA spot, 100 Thieves are competing in 2025 as provisional guests. Regardless of this status, they’ve managed to stay very competitive with a dominant start to the season after winning LTA Split 1 with some of the best LoL players.
Indeed, as we mentioned, the team only fell short at LTA Cross Conference, where Liquid beat them quite badly.
Following this loss, esports betting sites such as GG.Bet are ranking them rather low, at fourth in their most recent rankings. Overall, we have no reason to agree with this ranking and would rank them
Cloud9 – LTA North Split 2 Underdogs
Having not tasted silverware in over 2 years, Cloud9 has the potential to surprise. After rebuilding their roster in the offseason, the team found immediate success after finishing 2nd at LTA North Split 1.
In addition, they managed to take Liquid the distance and although they lost, they have a lot of room for improvement to challenge for the trophy.
Those are the four teams we would look out for in this next leg of competition.
