Heretics Sticking Together

Regardless of who you ask, the VALORANT betting favourite for VCT EMEA Kickoff is undisputable – Team Heretics.

As the only team to stay together from last season, this formidable roster looks to run it back for the coming season, now packing a new performance coach. As one of the youngest teams from last season, here’s a reminder as to what this team achieved last season:

Although they haven’t shown off much in the offseason, there’s no reason to doubt this young and exciting team which looks to pounce on the competition which is picking up the pieces.

So far, Heretics have proven us right after staying almost flawless with wins over Gentle Mates and BBL Esports.

Team Vitality – A New Superteam?

In our opinion, Vitality is the most exciting team to look out for at the VCT EMEA Kickoff. Last season, after an impressive improvement, the team managed to make it to VALORANT Champions only to finish 9-12th.

With a vested interest to compete at the highest level, Vitality kept their best players in “Kicks”, “Sayf” and “trexx” while signing two of the best VALORANT players in the world:

The only other European duelist to match “Derke” was “Sayf”, and now they’re on the same team.

A few matches later, our faith in this team was justified after Vitality took care of both Karmine Corp and FUT Esports, now finding themselves in a Bracket Final against Team Heretics.

VCT EMEA – FUT or Liquid?

While Vitality and Heretics stand as clear favourites, FUT Esports and Team Liquid are both lurking in the Lower Bracket.

Historically, FUT has been one of the most consistent EMEA teams at any of the VALORANT tournaments, constantly competing with the best while sticking to their Turkish heritage. Seeded into the top 4 of the tournament, they’ve already taken down Liquid once at this tournament so far with a decisive 2-0 scoreline.

Losing to Vitality, FUT Esports then made quick work of Fnatic with another 2-0 sweep.

Meanwhile, Liquid’s journey has been a little tougher after losing to FUT as mentioned. Because of this loss, Liquid had to survive 3 rounds of the Lower Bracket – taking down Apeks, GIANTX and BBL Esports. Without question, their win over BBL Esports was very impressive and does give hope to this team.

Bearing this in mind, we don’t think this will be another sweep – maybe Liquid can take down FUT who are favoured.
