Summary

Unibet is a very good book for beginners and those looking to place very simplistic bets. Perhaps you have a friend that is looking to get into esports betting and need a bit of a push to help lure them in. Unibet is perfect for that.

Not only does Unibet offer the best welcome bonus, the lack of markets actually makes it easier for those looking for a simple bet.

Unibet’s simplicity also follows suit with their customer care. It’s very easy to have any issues rectified thanks to their 24/7 chat line.

Simple is the name of the game at Unibet, and that’s not a bad thing for some. However, if you’re looking for a more hardcore book that offers more props, Unibet may not be for you.

Unibet Overview

Green. Lots of green. We all associate the color with money, but the second you click on Unibet’s website, prepare for green to smack you in the face. Putting that aside, Unibet is a valid option for esports betting.

Following the template of many betting websites, you’ll see large pictures on the home page. But the action truly lives once you make that initial click into “Sports.”

There’s no gimmicky Flash player or anything like that, but the desktop website does look like it’s optimized for tablets and mobile devices.

Unibet doesn’t feature esports quite like other betting websites. But rest assured the market is there for simple bets.

Unibet also has a fantastic welcome offer for new customers that’ll let you double your deposit, up to €50. (Use our link to make sure you get this offer.) Compared to the likes of other websites, Unibet is still offering one of the biggest — if not the biggest — welcome offer on the market.

Why it works

Why it doesn’t

How much focus does esports get?

Esports is quite hidden within Unibet. Nowhere on the main screen is esports advertised as a market. You have to click on “sports” and then find esports in alphabetical order.

It does make sense that esports betting isn’t a main focus at Unibet, as its markets aren’t as large as some of the other competitors. Unibet seems to focus on the money line and only certain matches will have the ability to bet on single games.

That being said, Unibet’s esports section is good for beginners who want a taste of esports before they move onto more exotic bets.

Inside the esports betting at Unibet

Placing a sample bet

In order to bet on Unibet, you must be logged into your account. After doing so, you’ll select “sports” in the top left and then you will find “esports” in the list below.

Immediately you’ll be shown the “Live & Upcoming” games from all esports. In order to make life easier for yourself, you’ll want to click on “Browse E-Sports.” From there you can bet on what’s available through simple drop-down menus.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much outside of match winners at this point, so you’ll have to settle for the money line.

A simple box appears in the bottom right once you click on your bet. You are then free to navigate and place other bets while the user-friendly box stays towards the right as your ticket.

From there you enter your wager and simply press place “Bet.”

How easy is it to place a bet?

The simplicity of Unibet definitely makes up for the lack of markets. The virtual ticket doesn’t take up too much of your screen but not so little of it that you’re forced to squint.

You can clearly see your parlay or single bet and see the odds, as well as your potential payout.

How wide a range of games are offered?

Unibet is for beginners looking for a sample of action in esports. This is something that must be remembered. That being said, you won’t find niche games within Unibet. Instead, you’ll find your heavy hitters such as League of Legends, CS2 and Dota 2.

What kinds of bets can you place?

Compared to other books, Unibet has the least number of bets you can place. If you’re looking for money line bets, this is the place to be. It’s very hit or miss with single map winners across all games.

Does the site offer in-play betting?

Unibet has in-play betting but as was mentioned before, you’ll most likely only be betting on the outright winner.

Unibet esports mobile app

In the App Store, you can find the Unibet app. Make sure you get the right app, however; there is an app for sports and one for poker.

For Android, you must download via Unibet’s website.

iPhone & Android app Overview

Unibet’s mobile app is very easy to use. It is basically a clone of the desktop version and it works just as well as the website.

In order to find esports, you’ll have to get your scrolling finger ready. Not only is it down the list by a fair amount, it’s also under the dreaded “more sports” option.

However, once you get to the esports section, the mobile app actually has the desktop version beat with the addition of one simple aspect: The color red.

You’ll immediately see “Live” in red above matches that are current actively, compared to the desktop version that lumps both live and upcoming together.

The mobile app is fast and efficient, meaning you can place your bet quickly without any hassle and get back to watching your live match.

Banking options

Deposits

Here are the options at Unibet:

With deposits, Unibet says that there may be a commission for the provider you use, but goes on to say it will be stated on the deposit page.

Deposits are instant with all options except for a bank transfer, which may take two to ten banking days.

Withdrawals

Here’s how you can get your money back from Unibet:

Withdrawing funds from Unibet typically takes three to five days if using a bank transfer, up to 12 hours if doing it through Neteller and one to three days through Visa or MasterCard.

Unibet stands above the rest with its fee policy when it comes to withdrawals saying, “We charge no withdrawal fees, meaning everything you take out of your account is yours to keep. You may want to check whether your bank or third party provider charges a fee, as we can’t control any external costs.”

Customer service at Unibet

What customer service channels are available?

Unibet has a very comprehensive information center that has a plethora of answers for most questions surrounding the book. If that’s not enough, there is also a live chat section that is available 24/7. If you’re old-fashioned you can also send an email to Unibet.

Response test

While most simple questions can be answered through the FAQ section, the ability to chat with a customer service representative is very easy. You’ll simply enter your name and email address and be placed in a short queue.

Testing it around 5 p.m. Eastern, I was placed sixth in queue and was chatting with an agent in less than three minutes.
