Dignitas vs 100 Thieves: LCS 2022 Summer Predictions and Picks

This is a match between two sides heading in opposite directions. Dignitas are dead last at the minute with only two wins from 11 games. This is a real fall from grace for a side that weren’t table toppers recently but at least capable of a mid-table finish in the league. They’ve lost four in a row and their next opponents are one of the strongest LCS teams. The rest of the season is mostly going to be a case of showing some pride.

100 Thieves, on the other hand, are sailing upwards with eight wins from their 11 games. It’s got them to second place in the standings. Runners-up last time around, they are on a three-game winning streak that included a win against Evil Geniuses, who sit on top of the standings at the moment and beat 100 Thieves in the Spring season finals. The LoL odds are heavily in 100 Thieves’ favour, and rightly so.

Dignitas have got one eye on next season

Dignitas need a perfect record going forward to stand any chance of qualifying for the playoffs. Technically, they’ve still got a chance but it looks like the team’s management has accepted their fate and already started working towards next season.

They have sent Jungler, River, to Golden Guardians, and are going to get one of eXyu or Perry from the academy to take up the spot. River joined Dignitas to much fanfare, but the move hasn’t gone to play for either party, and it looks like this decision will serve both sides well.

River’s stats haven’t really stood out this season, with 1.84 kills, 2.51 deaths, 5.59 assists and 2.96 KDA per game for the year. The players from the academy should be capable of matching those numbers.

They need to consider revamping the team and look at what’s gone so badly wrong for the side as far as strategy is considered.  A first blood rate and first tower rate of 54.5% suggests that the aggressive early game strategy has failed or the players are incapable of executing it. Just 7.9 kills per game for the season is not good enough.

100 Thieves are hard to kill

100 Thieves’ defense has been key to their impressive performances for the season. They have taken fewer hits than any other side in the league with 8.1 deaths per game. Bot laner, FBI, takes the lead in this aspect of their game with only 1.83 per game.

In recent weeks, they’ve upped the ante early game and are trying to finish their matches quickly with a first blood rate of 54.5% and average match duration of 32 minutes and 11 seconds being evidence to that.

For 100 Thieves, it’s going to more of the same heading into this match. They can experiment a little heading into this one because their playoff spot is safe, they’re the in-form team in the league and are playing against the least in-form team in the league.

Despite having a kills per game average of 13.6, this is something to can work on because Evil Geniuses are far ahead in this category with 16 per game and this was the difference between the two sides when they met in the Spring Season finals.

“I think we mostly won games because somebody popped off and stuff like that. When we beat Team Liquid to finish our 2021 LCS Championship run, it felt like no one could beat us. I want to get to that point again,” Closer told Inven Global. “I personally showed that I performed much better in playoffs because it’s best-of-five format and you can adapt better the way that we adapted against Team Liquid in the Spring Playoffs.

“We are really good friends and I think everyone is individually good enough to win a championship. Since we know each other well, we can also identify our mistakes like the ones that come from things outside of gameplay like mentality. I think it’s cool that we’ve stuck together for a while, we all have a really good friendship and I’m sure it’s going to carry over to the game as well.”

Dignitas vs 100 Thieves Predictions

This should be one of the easier LoL predictions for the LCS Summer 2022. This does not make for the most fun type of League of Legends betting, but little wins like this are also part of the deal for esports odds. A four-game winning streak for 100 Thieves seems inevitable. The next aim is to top the league table.
