For each region, the format is identical. Specifically, the seeded teams are fighting through an online double-elimination tournament, with every team starting on equal footing in the Upper Bracket.

Depending on the seeding for the particular region, only the very best will make it deeper into the Bracket and try to claim the seed for The International Main Event.

The International Qualifiers Predictions

Following our original betting preview, below we’ve updated our predictions for the two remaining qualifiers, while confirming the results of those which have already been completed.

Having used Dota Pro Circuit Points for the predictions, only two regions are yet to be completed – Western Europe and Southeast Asia. Here’s a look at our TI Qualifiers Dota 2 predictions:

Western Europe Qualifier Predictions

  1. Quest Esports (545)
  2. OG (290)
  3. Entity (208)

As one of the most competitive regions in the Dota Pro Circuit, the Western Europe TI Qualifier will likely offer some epic Dota 2 battles.

Quest Esports are the favorites thanks to an impressive placement at the Bali Major which scored the team 450 Dota Pro Circuit points, soaring to the top position.

Ranked behind them are OG and Entity, with OG having the edge over Entity thanks to its strong performance at the Berlin Major.

For the WEU Qualifier, Quest Esports is our The International Qualifiers betting pick.

28th August – at the time of writing, only one team has been eliminated (Into The Breach) and our predictions remain on target.

Southeast Asia Qualifier

  1. Execration (592)
  2. Bleed Esports (500)
  3. Blacklist International (360)

As the highest-ranked team in the region, Execration is definitely a good pick for any The International SEA Qualifier betting considering their consistent performance across the year.

However, they aren’t too far ahead of Bleed Esports who were crowned champions of DPC Tour III and definitely have a shot here.

It’ll be interesting to see how Execration and Bleed Esports face off here.

For the SEA Qualifier, Execration is our The International Qualifiers betting pick.

28th August – at the time of writing, six teams have been eliminated (Made in Philippines, UD Vessuwan, Vision, Myth Avenue Gaming, SPAWN Team & IHC Esports) and our predictions remain on target.

North America Qualifier Predictions

  1. nouns
  2. B8
  3. Team DogChamp

For the NA Qualifier, nouns were our NA The International Qualifiers betting pick and managed to deliver, placing first with an unquestionable and decisive run over the competition.

Accordingly, nouns is heading to The International.

Otherwise, B8 made a surprising run to finish second in the region while felt disappointed.

South America Qualifier Predictions

  1. Keyd Stars
  2. Thunder Awaken
  3. AcatSuki

For the SA Qualifier, Thunder Awaken were our The International Qualifiers betting pick.

However, while they did earn a spot for The International, it wasn’t as they intended.

Moreover, at the SA Qualifier, Keyd Stars stunned the community with an impressive performance, knocking down Thunder Awaken into the Lower Bracket in a massive upset for the favourites. As a result, Infinity were pushed out of the race.

Overall, Keyd Stars’ rise is an exciting story which will likely develop at The International.

Eastern Europe Qualifier Predictions

  1. Virtus.pro
  2. One Move
  3. Natus Vincere

For the EEU Qualifier, Virtus.pro were our The International Qualifiers betting pick.

Offering no surprises, Eastern Europe, a top Dota region, have crowned the favourite of Virtus.pro who remained rather undefeated the entire tournament, only losing one round throughout.

Let’s see if Virtus.pro can carry this momentum into the largest event of the year – The International.

China Qualifier Predictions

  1. Azure Ray
  2. Xtreme Gaming
  3. Team Zero

For the China Qualifier, Team Aster were our The International Qualifiers betting pick.

Yet, despite being the heavy favourites thanks to international experience and having the most Dota Pro Circuit points out of their competitors – Team Aster fell short in a big way at the China Qualifier.

Finishing sixth, they fell to their rivals of Xtreme Gaming.

This paved the way for Azure Ray, the second favourite team, to make the most of the opportunity and earn their spot at The International over Xtreme Gaming.
