LJL 2024 Format – A New Structure
One thing which the best League of Legends betting sites are pointing out is that this season of the LJL is unique.
Moreover, for 2024, the LJL region becomes part of the PCS ecosystem together with the LCO. While this may be seen as the region becoming smaller, it should allow for greater competition.
In addition, this season has AXIZ and Crest Gaming Act fusing into AXIZ CREST, while FENNEL disbanding – the league only has 6 teams:
- AXIZ CREST
- Burning Core
- DetonatioN FocusMe
- Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS
- Sengoku Gaming
- V3 Esports
The season is split into two splits – Spring and Summer, with similar formats.
Each Split involves two stages of competition:
- Group Stage
- Double round robin groups with BO3 matches
- 1-6th seed into playoffs
- 1-2nd place – Semifinals
- 3-6th place – Quarterfinals
- Playoffs
- Single elimination bracket with BO5 matches
- Top 3 seed for PCS Playoffs
As part of the PCS, LJL teams have the opportunity to earn international seeds for MSI and Worlds at the PCS Playoffs.
Indeed, the PCS Playoffs look to be important League of Legends betting opportunities.
LJL Odds & Markets
If your LJL betting experience starts at the LJL 2024 season, it’s essential to understand the different betting markets and LoL odds.
Overall, as outlined in our LoL betting guide, there are a number of LJL odds and markets to consider. Firstly, we have simple betting markets:
- Tournament Outright Winner – users pick out a team to walk away as the overall victors, odds provided before a tournament by esports bookmakers
- Match Outright Winner – a match, consisting of multiple rounds/maps may also be predicted for an overall winner, may be offered as standard or a live betting opportunity
- Map Outright Winner – users have the chance to predict a map winner every map, once again ranging from live or standard betting
Notably, the above esports betting markets may also be accompanied with Handicap bets, namely for Matches and Maps as esports bookmakers minimize the risk on betting on one-sided match-ups.
Beyond simple betting markets, there are also special bets to consider, typically for veterans or those with in-game knowledge:
- First Blood – predicting which player or which team will walk away with the first kill of the match-up
- First Baron/Dragon Slayed – a pivotal in-game moment which users may predict ahead of the map
And there are plenty of other examples depending on the esports betting site.

However for this region, DetonatioN FocusMe has been the top team since 2018, winning a total of 10 out of 11 regional competitions.
Bearing this in mind, they’re heavy favourites for the 2024 season.
