24.02.2024 – LCQ Finishes EU Major Qualifications

With 9 Pandas coming out on top in the LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier), the European qualification process for the inaugural CS2 Major has come to an end.

Eight more teams have punched themselves a ticket to the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen, with only one EU Major spot left to be taken by one of the six teams participating in the LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier).

19.02.2024 – EU RMR B Is Afoot

The second portion of the European Major qualification process is underway, as 16 teams take to the server in the EU RMR B.

Much like in RMR A, eight teams will progress straight to the PGL CS2 Major, while three teams with a 2-3 record by the end of the competition will still have a chance to book their spot in Copenhagen in the LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier).

After a few days of constant Counter-Strike action, the EU RMR A has concluded with eight teams securing themselves a spot at the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen. Here’s a list of teams, which qualified for the inaugural CS2 Major:

14.02.2024 – European Qualifiers are Underway

Today the real competition starts, as the first 16 teams take to the server and battle for a Major spot in the EU RMR A, which will last until Feb. 17. The event will be carried out in a Swiss system format, with eight teams advancing straight to the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen.

The three teams that finish the EU RMR A with a 2-3 record will still have a chance to make the Major, as they battle it out in the LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier), against their counterparts from EU RMR B.

13.02.24 – Streaming and Live Betting

Beyond streaming on Twitch and YouTube, PGL has revealed that all competition will also be broadcast on Kick. In addition, the tournament organizers have announced peripherals brand ZOWIE as the Official Monitor Partner.

Throughout the broadcast, PGL has announced that no ads are to run during halftime, making for non-stop excitement. Once qualified for the main event, the following format unfolds similar to previous CS2 tournaments:

  • Opening Stage – March 17-20th
    • 16 Team Swiss Format – BO3 + BO1 matches
    • Top 8 move on to the Elimination Stage
  • Elimination Stage – March 21-24th
    • 16 Team Swiss Format – BO3 + BO1 matches
    • Top 8 move on to the Playoff Stage
  • Playoff Stage – March 28-31st
    • Single-elimination bracket with BO3 matches

Beyond the $1,250,000 on the line, there are BLAST Premier points up for grabs together with a single seed for the BLAST Premier World Final.
