Have you ever wondered whether parlay betting is as popular in esports as it is in regular sports? It’s a good and relevant question with a wide range of potential parlay odds and markets available for esports customers to enjoy.

In this article, we examine all you need to know about parlay odds and parlay betting in particular, with special reference to its use across the esports industry. So let’s begin with the most obvious and fundamental question of all.

What is a Parlay Bet?

A parlay bet is known by a number of other names, such as an accumulator (or ‘acca’) and it is a single bet that contains two or more selections. In order for the bet to be declared a winner, then all selections that are made on the bet must win.

In general, the more selections you add to a parlay bet, then the more the parlay odds increase. However, it is dependent on the odds of your selections. For example, if you place a parlay bet of £10 on three selections at odds of -150, -150, and -100 and all three selections won, that would see you earn returns of £45.56.

However, if you backed a two-selection parlay at odds of +150 and +150 and both selections won, then that would return slightly more at £52.50.

Two selection parlay bets are often called “doubles” on some sites, with three selection parlay bets referred to as ‘trebles’. These terms are more in use on sports betting sites (where parlay betting is massively popular), but they may also be used on esports betting sites too.

How are Parlay Odds Calculated?

The odds on your parlay bet are calculated by multiplying the different odds of the selections you have made for the bet together. The easiest way to do this is to use decimal odds, rather than fractional or American odds.

There are plenty of odds conversion tools available on the Internet to help you do this. Once converted then it is simply a case of multiplying the odds of the bet for the first step. For example, let’s say we have placed a £1 parlay bet on three selections at decimal odds of 2.50, 3.00, and 4.75.

The calculation to work out the parlay odds starts by multiplying the odds together – 2.5 x 3 x 4.75 = 35.625.

You now take that number and multiply that amount by your stake (35.625 x £1 = £35.62).

You then subtract your stake from the total (£35.62 – £1.00 – £34.62)

That means the parlay odds for this bet are 34.62/1

One of the best things about parlay odds is that you don’t need a calculator or a mathematical brain to work out the odds. All the best sports and esports betting sites will be able to calculate the odds on any parlay bet you wish to make with them on the bet slip, which means you are free to think about what selections to add to your bet in the hope of making it a long odds winner!

Getting the Best Parlay Odds

When placing an esports parlay bet, one of the best ways to increase the value of your bet is to select markets that have the best odds available. A good way to do this is with an esports odds tracker, which can alert you to the different betting options that are being available, and what the odds are on those bets with different esports betting sites.

Keeping a tab on the different bets and markets available and how those odds compare is another good way to filter out the poorer value bets, and this allows you to focus on the bets that offer you higher odds, increasing the value of your parlay bet.

With all the best esports betting sites offering a bet slip that will immediately calculate your esports parlay odds, it is very easy to add and remove items from your parlay bet to find the best combination of selections that offer you not only good odds, but also the best chance of your bet being a winner, which is, of course, the most important thing.

Yes, parlay betting is a very popular form of esports betting. This particular type of bet has been hugely popular in sports betting for many, many years now and it is unsurprising that as the esports betting industry has grown in popularity, so the options for punters to enjoy parlay betting has increased too.

A quick look at the markets for esports at bet365 reveals plenty of great parlay betting opportunities. It is the same story at other sites that offer a wide range of esports bets too.

One of the reasons why parlay betting is so popular with punters is that it is one of the easiest forms of low-risk/high-reward bets you can make. If you string enough winning parlay selections together, you can transform even a modest initial stake, into a considerable sum of money.

Of course, the flip side of this is that for your parlay bet to win, all selections you make must be winners and if one or more lets you down, then your bet is a loser.

However, given the chance of a long odds win, many punters are happy to accept many parlay bet losses in the hope of landing just one winner, which can often see them land a considerable amount of money compared to their initial stake.
