Arcane Renewed for Season 2
League of Legends’ animated series Arcane will be coming back on Netflix for a Season 2. Following the release of the series’ first season finale, we got the confirmation of a sequel thanks to a teaser of the second season’s story.
Arcane will have Season 2
The second season of the Netflix Series Arcane will be on its way, as production has already started. The announcement itself isn’t that surprising, considering how well-received the series was, with all the positive feedback about it. Arcane instantly became a fan-favorite since its release on Nov. 6, as it rose up to the number 1 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 list of English language TV shows, overtaking the Korean series Squid Game. As of right now, it’s currently in second place, behind Narcos.
Created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee, Season 2 of Arcane will have Fortiche Productions as its animation studio. Linke will serve as the executive producer alongside Marc Merrill, Brandon Beck, Jane Chung, and Thomas Vu.
“We’re beyond happy about the positive response to Arcane’s first season and are working hard with the creative wizards at Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second installment,” said the two Arcane co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee. Riot Games already planned to make Arcane a multi-season series, so expect even more to come in the next few years.
Arcane Season 2 will have the same characters as Season 1
Based on the teaser announcement, it looks like that the two Piltover Champions Vi and Caitlyn will be in the next season, as their story will be centered around the pair hunting down Vi’s sister, Jinx. The clip also transpires that all of these characters will keep their original voice actors of Hailee Steinfeld (Vi), Katie Leung (Caitlyn), and Ella Purnell (Jinx) for the upcoming season.
While there is no confirmation yet, the general idea is that other champions like Jayce, Viktor and Heimerdinger, will all be featured in the second season. The end of the first season left the audience quite curious since the show hinted at the fact that it might explore the wider world of Runeterra, including a few hints that we might see Noxus — or at least more of its influence.

Riot Games’ frenetic month of releases
While Arcane was definitely the most successful release in November, Riot Games has been making sure the company was exposed all over the world. Aside from the collaboration with Epic Games to have Riot’s titles included in the Epic Launcher, Riot Forge also released some League of Legends-related games, such as Hextech Mayhem and Ruined King. Both were released on Nov. 16 and are already available to play.
As if that was not enough, Riot also added in-game collectibles and crossovers with other games, like Jinx on Fortnite, and the real-life experience in Los Angeles with the Undercity Nights event.
When will Arcane Season 2 be released?
Netflix and Riot Games have not announced a release date for Arcane season 2 yet, but it has been confirmed by Riot Games’ CEO that it won’t come in 2022, so fans will have to wait a little longer for one of the most successful series of recent time.
