SUPERVIVE: A Failed MOBA-Inspired Battle Royale?
Honestly, it’s nice when games wear their inspiration on their sleeve, and upcoming isometric battle royale game SUPERVIVE is clearly a League of Legends-inspired take on the BR genre. Capturing the fluidity, aesthetic, and even having some of the same developers, SUPERVIVE boldly explores a different genre while keeping its roots clear. However, creativity is only one piece of the puzzle – where is SUPERVIVE in 2025?
The initial SUPERVIVE release date was on November 20th 2024, we’re taking a look to see how the game has fared.
What You Need to Know About SUPERVIVE

SUPERVIVE is a self-described MOBA BR meets hero shooter that wants you to jump, glide, shoot, punch, bounce, and nuke your way to victory. Taking part in chaotic sky-bound maps, where the risk of falling off the edge is as dangerous as your opponents, the game cuts out fluff and focuses on team fights and squad battles. Created by developer Theorycraft Games, the game runs in Unreal Engine 4, giving it some great performance and graphical fidelity.
With multiple modes, including four-player team battle royal, duos battle royal, and an arena 4v4, the game has loads of possibilities for fun. There’s also 16 hunters (characters) at present, with more on the way, each with a unique array of abilities. These range from mech-suit riding pirates, your perhaps now stereotypical flame-powered fox, deadly snipers, and more.
Created by veteran developers that have worked with League of Legends and VALORANT creator Riot Games, and other huge PvP titles, SUPERVIVE is a unique take on a now expansive genre, perfect for new players and experienced MOBA veterans alike.
SUPERVIVE Release Date – After the Fact

As a free-to-play title with an interesting concept hopes were high for SUPERVIVE – what could go wrong?
Well, within a few months, the game has fallen off a cliff with 1300-21000 live players across all platforms. Compare this to the all-time peak of 47,913 concurrent players and the situation is undoubtedly dire. This is despite the fact that the title generally has positive reviews from the community.
One doesn’t need a degree in game design to know that a lack of player retention is most likely due to poor or no incentives for players to return and play. With no rewards, no rank system, no new characters, the title was not ready for public release and can be described as rushed.
In the modern gaming industry, live-service games with scarce content have plagued the community and SUPERVIVE has joined the list.
At this point, the only thing which would save the title is to unrelease it, work on it for a few months and re-release. Indeed, a re-release could put some excitement back into the game while giving developers the opportunity to prepare more content for players.
Is SUPERVIRE Crossplay?
SUPERVIVE released on PC only, primarily on the Steam platform. It’s unknown if there will be a Steam-agnostic Windows release or if other platforms will be added in the future.
