While not one of the most recognised bookmakers in the UK and around the world, FansBet still does have plenty to offer punters. Welcome to our FansBet review, were we dive deep into everything there is to know about this brand, including giving you answers to the questions ‘is FansBet legit?’ and ‘just how worthwhile is the FansBet welcome offer?’.

We don’t just cover those two topics though — we’ll also look into FansBet’s customer support, payment methods and licensing and security. Ultimately we want to provide you with a summary of why this brand might be great — or not. And so, without any further waffling, let’s get down to our FansBet review.

Editors Review: An interesting brand that has the potential to take off

Summary

FansBet is a well-built up-and-comer with the potential to really penetrate the UK market. It is, though, also one of the hardest markets to stand-out, with many brands such as Bet365, William HIll, Labdrokes and Coral dominating the UK high street and web-space. That’s not to say we’re unimpressed with FansBet though, just that they have stiff competition.

Firstly, we like the overall layout of the website. You’ll find available sports to bet on both in the sidebar menu and within the in-play section, which takes centre stage in the middle of the screen. We were pleased to see nine sports offering live betting odds at the time of writing. Football betting was, of course, the most popular, but live tennis and cricket odds were also available. Shifting from the sports to the inplay section via the top menu was a little slow — as in there was a delay of a few seconds, which is quite a lot nowadays, but overall performance of the site is fine.

The welcome offer (which we’ll go into more detail about further on in the review) is relatively generous — especially for a UK sports betting product. They also have some other cool promotions available. Finally, their Giving Back pledge is a great feature, allowing punters to support charities of their choice and through their betting activity donate money to their chosen cause. Overall, with features like this, we’re relatively happy with the overall FansBet experience.

The FansBet Welcome bonus: A 200% up to £200 First Deposit Offer

We like to dive into the welcome offer first at esportsbets.com because it’s pretty much the main reason why you would join a betting website. Sure, a bookmaker can have all the amazing features in the world, but if there’s no bonus, we generally believe you will go to another esports betting website.

Fortunately, the welcome offer at FansBet is rather generous indeed. Actually, at the time of writing, it’s one of the best on the market. Bet365’s £100 in bet credits offer is one of the most attractive for sure, but FansBet equals it while also providing you the experience of a brand new UK betting website.

To claim the 200% up to £200 FansBet welcome offer you simply need to sign-up, deposit up to £100. From there, you will need to wager the bonus 10 x across seven days to unlock the full amount in withdrawable cash. There are, of course, additional terms and conditions you need to be aware of. They are:

There are a number of other terms and conditions which apply to this welcome offer, but we recommend you check out the FansBet website for more information.

Finally, we found there is a range of other promotions available when conducting our FansBet review. There is an identical casino offer (200% up to £200), which has similar T&Cs to the sports betting bonus, but please check the website yourself. You can also Bet £10 and get £10 as a new customer. Also, there are offers around specific slot game such as ‘play £10 and get 20 free spins on Tyrant King’.  Honestly, FansBet has a lot of promotions which we suggest you check out yourself.

Exploring the FansBet products in detail

Next up we have our dedicated FansBet review of the product — which is the part of the review where we explore the brands esports betting, sports betting and casino offering. Enjoy!

Esports betting

Given that FansBet is more of a classic sports betting operation we weren’t expecting the product to have much in the way of esports betting. And honestly, the set-up isn’t ideal. Instead of offering sections per title, they kind of just merge all the leagues into one sub-section. This provides a relatively confusing user experience, as now if we want to bet on the Rainbow Six European League, we have to scroll through a long column of leagues.  And it doesn’t get much better with the overall view of the esports odds on offer in the centre of the screen. Instead of per game, it follows the same logic in the sidebar menu and just splurges esports tournaments at you. There is also no way to filter per game, which is a shame.

Otherwise, the range of esports markets and odds at FansBet isn’t too bad. The LoL LCS for example had four available fixtures. Sadly, the only real betting option was ‘match winner’. When compared to the likes of Pixel.Bet esports, this is a pretty poor show. And the same really goes for the rest of the esports titles and leagues. Not bad. Not great. Definitely not the strongest esports betting website out there.

Sports betting

Sports betting is obvious where FansBet is at its strongest. With Kenny Dalglish as an ambassador for the betting side of things, you can expect with such a titan in the industry, this brand has something worth shouting about. At the time of writing there were 25+ available sports to bet on — with football being the most popular in terms of available markets. At FansBet you can also find odds for the classics such as horse racing, tennis, gold, cricket, rugby — but also niche sports such as Gaelic Hurling, Gaelic Football and futsal are available.

Fanbet Review

Looking closer into using the website to place a bet and we found the experience to be simple. Choose your sport (in our case tennis), find the fixture you want to bet on (in our case Michael Mmoh vs JC Aragone), and select your bet (in this case a Mmoh win at 1/7). Since all markets are loaded on one single screen, regardless of how many odds you browse per sport, coming up with accumulator bets across multiple markets is super easy. After selecting Mmoh to win, we then headed to the cricket section and added Barbados to beat Australia at 9/1, and then through to the basketball section and opted for an ‘either team to win by 1 – 5’ bet on the IND Fever vs LV Aces WNBA fixture. All this time waiting while searching for all these odds, my bet slip was in the right-hand corner, clear as day. This made placing accas easy.

So, overall, sports betting at Fansbet is super simple and their interface is great. It’s just a real shame about the lack of esports odds.

Casino

Finally, just a quick overview of the casino product as FansBet. We were, overall, satisfied with what was on offer. They have a top range of slot games, including the likes of Wolf Canyon, Big Spin Bonus, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Sisters of Oz Jackpots. The table games were as you would expect — roulette, baccarat and blackjack. The live casino was also well stocked with Evolution Gaming titles such as Blackjack Party Live, Free Bet Blackjack and Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt Live. Overall, if you like casino gaming online, FansBet has a nice range of games — but you would be better served by a casino such as Wazmba.

Customer support at FansBet

Getting in touch with customer support with FansBet is easy. They offer a 24/7 live chat service, with average response times of 1 minute. Email is available at help[at]fansbet[dot]com, but generally takes up to 48 hours for a reply.

Payment methods at FansBet: Covering all the common deposit methods

FansBet genuinely falls short when it comes to deposit methods. You can only deposit via Visa and Mastercard. This, when compared to the likes of our GG.bet review, really shows how limited this is.

Security and licensing: Is FansBet safe?

When answering the question ‘is FansBet legit?’, one of the main things we look at is licensing. Fortunately, FansBet is licensed and regulated by the UKGC — the industry’s number one regulator of casino and sports betting. Furthermore, FansBet is secured with the latest SSL technology, meaning you can be sure all communications are encrypted.

Our final thoughts on FansBet: Is FansBet legit?

Overall, we like FansBet. It’s not the best product out there, but it definitely works well for regular sports bettors. The design is intuitive and we like the fact there are not many page changes required to put on complex accumulator bets. The welcome bonus is also rather generous. So yes, we recommend you check this brand out — but only for regular sports betting or online casino gaming. For esports betting, we’d rather you go for someone like GG.bet or Pixel.bet.
