Format and Schedule

While FiReLEAGUE hosts other events in the season (such as the Regional Finals, North, Central and South leagues) the Global Finals are the top esports tournament of the year for this organizer.

Over the years, the format and schedule have undergone changes, from a two-stage (Group Stage & Playoffs) tournament back in 2021 to a single-elimination Playoffs bracket in 2022.

  • Featuring eight teams for FiReLEAGUE Global Finals 2023, it’s very likely that the format will involve a single-elimination bracket with BO3 matches making for exciting odds.
  • Speaking of the eight teams, FiReLEAGUE Global Finals invites 7/8 teams, selecting some strong Latin competition and mixing things up with non-Latin competition.

Knowing when teams are playing and against whom is essential for FiReLEAGUE Global Finals betting.

History of FiReLEAGUE Global Finals

Over the past three years of FiReLEAGUE Global Finals, the following teams have stepped up to the podium:

Global Finals Iteration1st Place2nd Place
2020BOOM Esports Isurus
20219z Team Isurus
2022Team Spirit paiN Gaming
2023TBDTBD

Starting in 2020, the event was rather small with a $70,000 prize pool and only three seeded teams, strictly from South America. From the start, it’s important to understand that the crowds at this event cheer especially for Latin teams – a factor for FiReLEAGUE Global Finals betting.

Following the success found though, and an increased budget thanks to working with BLAST, 2021 saw the tournament blow up to include 12 teams and an $83,000 prize pool. At the time, the tournament still showcased a South American focus with no other invited teams.

Then in 2022, the event narrowed down the number of teams to 8, focusing on inviting a greater variety of teams. Now with $150,000 on the line, the exciting Camp Nou venue made for an exciting competition, one spiced up with participants from Europe.

Now in 2023, it seems that FiReLEAGUE have perfected the formula — inviting teams from Spain/Portugal, and throwing in two European invites, the event still offers an Open Qualifier and returns to Camp Nou in Spain.

It’s this exciting mixture of teams which makes the event such an exciting esports betting opportunity to look for on esports betting sites. For 2023, the event is one of many which celebrates the kick-off of CS2 taking over from CSGO.
