Can KRU Esports & Sentinels Make it? VCT Americas Playoffs Betting
Six teams remain in VCT Americas in an epic battle for their spot at VALORANT Champions later this season. In our VCT Playoffs insights, we’re taking a closer look at which teams are likely to make it.
VCT Americas seeds for VCT Champions – How Does it Work?
For the VCT Americas region which is popular for VALORANT betting, seeding for VALORANT Champions works accordingly:
- 3 slots – Teams from VCT League Stage 2
- 1 slot – Team from Championship Points
Championship Points were devised for 2024 as a fair way to seed teams to VALORANT Champions. In each region, across an entire season, wins both regionally and internationally earn teams points at VALORANT tournaments.
Bearing this in mind, it’s essential to be familiar with the current VCT Americas Championship Points standings:
Ranking | VCT Americas Team | Total Championship Points |
---|---|---|
#1 | Leviatan | 12 |
#1 | Sentinels | 12 |
#3 | 100 Thieves | 11 |
#3 | G2 Esports | 7 |
#5 | KRU Esports | 7 |
#6 | Cloud9 | 6 |
For some teams, they either win up to the Upper Bracket or Lower Bracket Final this weekend, or they’re missing out on VALORANT Champions.
Sentinels vs 100 Thieves – Best Possible Start
Anybody who’s been watching competitive VCT this year in Americas will tell you that Sentinels and 100 Thieves have been two of the best teams all year. Both teams pack a strong following, though Sentinels will always take the cake, building towards an epic Knockout Round match with multiple VALORANT odds.
The last time these two teams met was back in April when Sentinels walked away with a 2-0 lead. Right now, Sentinels still looks like the better team and is favoured by esports betting sites. with their beloved duelist ‘Tenz’ at the helm.
While both teams are in a great spot to seed to VALORANT Champions on Championship Points, an early loss would leave their fate in the hands of KRU and Cloud9 – neither wishes to leave it to chance.
KRU Esports seek to rekindle old flames
Back in the day, KRU Esports had an incredible reputation for qualifying for every single international VALORANT tournament no matter how the esports odds were stacked against them.
Last season, they came out of nowhere to dominate the VCT Americas LCQ with an unbelievable underdog run. Maintaining the core of that roster, this team is very difficult to put down.
Moreover, KRU seems to be peaking at the right time after a rough season, managing to take down the likes of 100 Thieves and Cloud9 in Stage 2.
While they are favoured to win their opening match against Cloud9, they need to go deep in this tournament to have a chance to make it to VALORANT Champions considering their lack of Championship Points – there’s a chance.
Leviatan likely to cruise through
While other teams have to fight to survive, Leviatan is in a very comfortable position.
Regaining after a poor VCT Masters Shanghai performance, Leviatan went 9-1 in the regular season of VCT Americas Stage 2 to cleanly clench the first seed spot.
Their dominance, fueled by a team of international allstars led by their star duelist “aspas” earns them a start in the tournament at the Upper Bracket Semifinals.
Bearing this in mind and their lead in Championship Points, it’s very unlikely that Leviatan has to do much to make it VALORANT Champions. Moreover, one win will be all that it takes.
